In the early days they were referred to as "the coldplay" im magazines. I don't know if it was a mistake, or if the band put the 'the' there soon after the starfish gig and removed it later on.

Also add 'Colplay' to that list. That's a common mistake too I think.

I get so annoyed everytime I see that someone writes it wrong! I mean it's not that hard! I even get annoyed at people writing ColdPlay!

LOL @ redgirl, I have the same typo issue too! I was looking at some of the music files I had downloaded and renamed and there were a whole bunch where I'd mis typed the band name as Coldpaly.

this thread is perfect. i dont usually get annoyed if someone just types cold play or one of the many versions we've obviously seen lol, but if someone proclaims to like or love the band, and they do that...well thats a whole different story. it annoys me so much. if you like a band...you better know how to spell its name.
