Q. What do I do?

Been out with my girlfriend for 2 years. I cheated on her in the first month and she has only just found out. She was very annoyed and said she could never trust me again, however we just got back together the other day. then after a few days I cheated on her again, I was very drunk and I would say it was the girls fault. I told her because I had to be honest this time and now she does not want to speak to me again but she said for me to get her back I need to do something extreme and amazing.

The Oracle replies:

What extreme and amazing thing do I think you could do? I'd say stay away from her! I am surprised she is considering taking you back. I take it you weren't forced to cheat? You cannot blame booze or another person as the blame lies entirely with you. She'd be better off without you unless you can grow up and stop fooling around. If you really care about her why would you risk screwing it up again and so soon? It's always worth putting yourself in someone else's shoes and imagine being treated this way. How would you feel if she'd done this to you? You may have found it unforgivable so don't be surprised if any of your efforts are ignored.

As "tragic" as all these teenager's problems are - there should be more CP related stuff!!

Do you think people are sending in less questions about the band??

  • I can't give you the reasonings on why things changed, but I can give you an update from what I observed. The Oracle was run by Debs Wild. Debs is still with the band and helps out fans, for exam

Q. Good day Oracle, I've a question for you. Who is the man that appears in God Put a Smile Upon Your Face video?

Thanks a lot,

Antonella

The Oracle replies:

That would be the awesome actor Paddy Considine. If you've never seen any of his films I would highly recommend that you do!

How many times have we had that one? Yowzer.

Q. Dear Oracle,

Was the Violet Hill single with A Spell a Rebel Yell available anywhere outside the UK? I'm desperate and resorting to ebay.

The Oracle replies:

The combination of those two tracks on a physical format (7 inch vinyl) was only available as a free giveaway with the NME; unfortunately they cannot extend the offer outside of the U.K

At least two out of three were related to Coldplay and not "sad boyfriend stories" like Chris put it on "Enough Rope"...

What's "Enough rope" ???

I'm sure you've seen at least the short youtube clips!

Enough Rope with Andrew Denton - 3 July 2006

You're not!!

And I still remember your daily-changing avatar with the countdown until your concert in December! That was fun:)

It's worth downloading... at least the audio file!

This is the interview where Chris said:

CHRIS MARTIN: Coldplay is for people with great taste, intelligence, incredible good lookingness, talent, ability, success, grabbing of life. Coldplay's for people who know what life's about. They're always entertaining. Delightful to talk to. Sweet, charming, incredibly good in bed. Virile. They have incredible success with girls, or boys, or both. They're generally just the world's best citizens. Maybe I'm biased, but I'm definitely right.

Q. I've heard some folks saying that A Message was loosely inspired by the 1664 Samuel Crossman hymn My Song Is Love Unknown. Is there any truth to that? BTW, my wife surprised me with tix to the Atlanta show. Phenomenal! Thanks for making memories with us.

The Oracle replies:

There's no "loosely" about it, it was inspired by the hymn.

Q. Dear All-knowing Oracle,

I'm a 36 (soon 37) year old woman that still loves to go to concerts, dance, scream, jump, you know, have a good time. I just went to a Coldplay concert and I was enjoying it more than the 20 year old girls. My husband tells me I am getting too old for that. I'm afraid that when I'll be 50 or 60 I will still love concerts more than anything. I think I will never stop enjoying a good rock concert. Also, I am too old for following Coldplay on twitter? go on Coldplaying forums? Most of people there are teenagers or in their twenties, I still feel 20 for certain things. But I look 37 on the outside. I used to be a very pretty girl. But now guys hardly look at me. It is hard sometimes. Is this the midlife crisis everyone talks about? Please answer this one (Serious question).

The Oracle replies:

You're never too old to appreciate music and don't let anyone tell you anything different!

I don't think you're going through a mid-life crisis. From the sounds of it you're just having a self-confidence crisis. Why do you need other men to look at you when you have a husband? I hope he's making you feel special, if not, maybe you could gently tell him how you're feeling.

Pamper yourself with either a visit to a spa, a new hairstyle, a new outfit or something that will make you remember how pretty you still are!

Q. Oracle,

For the recording of the Fix You video, X&Y was not released yet. How did the audience know the song?

The Oracle replies:

It was. The video was recorded in July and the album had been out a full month by then.

Q. I noticed that Jonny didn't make it into the helicopter at the end of the LiTii video - does he have a phobia about flying?

The Oracle replies:

There simply wasn't room for the puppet. In fact, you can read more about it here.
