I agree with the above comments... the lyrics are just beautiful, if you really, really, listen, and just think about them. Chris himself, as well as the other band members, put so much feeling and passion into their music, and you can tell. Plus, their songs and beats are just catchy, even if you don't pay attention to small things such as the mood, lyrics, etc.

 

Oh, and Chris is sexy as hell. :laugh3:

I love how their lyrics make me feel like I see someone I care for. All tingling... And the music, the way that it can make me happy when I'm sad, or when Im just sad I feel like someone is with me even if that someone is in my CD-player

Not to mention that they were the soundtrack of my 3 years relationship and Yellow means to me as much as my whole life.

the music and lyrics have dragged me out of the duldrums many a time......not to forget they are a darn fine looking bunch of lads!!

their music is so unique, and so beautiful. it really makes you think, and it really relaxes me.

Well thanks for being open, as I've said I'm not very into them, musiclly they just don't do it for me but they make you happy and thats cool:) just don't expect to get me to a concert or convert me.

I have no musical ability whatsoever, so I might not explain this very well, but here goes.

 

There's something really comforting about a lot of Coldplay songs - the first time you here them, they seem familiar. Yellow, In My Place, Fix You... it feels like you've known them all your life. Is that the melody? Is it the lyrics? I don't know?

 

I've been to enough concerts to know they are a great live band. I couldn't comment on the individual merits of each musician, but together, the four of them sound wonderful and each concert I've been to has been better than the last

 

Finally, I respect them as people. In a society that seems to celebrate the dumb and mediocre, they're not ashamed to use their brains. They think about artwork and outfits, they talk about politics and the "big ideas". They step out as individuals rather than trying to conform to some petty rock star mould.

I don't know what things are like in your country, but over in the UK the British press just seems to love stupidity and blandness. They love anyone who falls drunkenly out of nightclubs at 3am in the morning and look down on anyone who tries to use their brain or - heaven forbid!!! - comes from a comfortable, stable (middle class) background

I guess its just that there is no coldplay song I dislike. I mean their lyrics and music itself is just wonderous. Their really good at making their music awesome, thats always admirable.

When I started listening to them, it was truly the first time I described music as beautiful. It whatever "it" is just makes them amazing. I just connect with their songs and thats what realy makes me a fan. :wacky:

Coldplay are one of the only bands I know who make every part of their songs amazing, they just don't make a song which is catchy, they do that plus make their lyrics, melodys and MEMBERS amazing, just breathtaking wellrounded music!

I'm kidding! In all seriousness, their music just totally connects with me and what I've been going through in life. Their music is basically my life story, and it's so amazing how their songs get me through situations and make me think. Sometimes I even think, "did they write this about me?!" :lol: I've never had such a personal connection with music before them. I can listen to them over and over again and never be bored of it. They are unbelievably talented and have such great chemistry together. Also, they seem so down-to-earth and kindhearted, they seem like they don't have poles up their asses like other musicians and act really snobby, they are humorous and are always making us fans laugh. They can make of themselve and be happy, which I love so much. It doesn't hurt that they are all very handsome either, hehe. But first and foremost it's their music and their genuineness.

I do not like Coldplay I love them. There is a difference which I hope you can understand. I love the innate ability Chris and his mates have to write music that is lost in this day and age. I love the fact the they have the chemistry that few groups have ever had and know how to use it properly. I love the fact that these men have done what few other groups have been able to do, they make people forget. Forget about the things that make them sad, that they have a horrible point in their life, that they are quite miserable. Only two other groups have ever been able to truly do this which are The Beatles and Queen. Both also had the chemistry which makes Coldplay great. Just as with Queen and the Beatles their music doesn't have a set date, granted the sound might but the meanings and words of the songs have none. In other words, I love Coldplay because they are what music is all about, Music is supposed to express how you feel and make you forget about your troubles and just be happy. Thanks to many lost and forgetful people hardly anyone knows what this means anymore. Coldplay is music plain and simple. Forget the fact that Chris isn't the strongest singer in the world, or that Guy can't strum as well as others, they even openly admit they are not. They make the best of what they have and it makes them happy just like it does with their fans. You don't have to be the best to be good

If I wanna relax and unwind, I can listen to Postcards or Spies. If I wanna feel optimistic, I'll listen to Speed of Sound or X&Y. Coldplay... it's my life's soundtrack

I'm just curious to hear what made you like them or what part of thier sound appeals to you as fans?, I'm going to be completly honest and say that I don't particularly like them myself, I don't hate them and I'm not coming on here to insult them or try and cause inflamatory comments, I'm a musician and I like to talk to other people who are passionate about music even if we have differing opinions, if we all had the same taste it would be rather boring wouldn't it.
