I know somebody who works there who said the employees were made to open the cash registers and then let themselves get tied up! :laugh3:

Robbers raid McDonalds

 

A McDonald's was robbed as staff closed up for the night.

The restaurant in Ryhope Road, Sunderland, was struck by thieves between 11.45pm on Saturday and 12.30am yesterday.

 

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said cash was stolen in the raid.

He said: "At least two people were involved in the robbery, during which a sum of cash was taken."

 

He added investigations were still in the early stages.

 

A McDonald's spokeswoman said: "There were no customers in the restaurant at the time and none of our staff were injured in the robbery.

 

"We are liaising with all employees involved in the incident to offer support and advice and we are assisting the police with their enquiries."
