quick review..

The support act was pretty good. The Alexandria Quartet, to remember. It was a great band to start the night with. Got us in the right mood for the rest of the evening.

 

Travis went on at about 9pm, I think. The good thing with such small venues is that you can hear everything from people screaming at the very back of the venue to the band pushing their pedals. I love it. Love the very intimate atmosphere. You kinda feel like the band actually sees you individually, you're not just a small dot surrounded by 10,000 other people. Being front row helped a lot with that feeling :lol:

What can I say ? Travis was fantastic! I must admit I probably watched less than 5 live videos before going to this gig, so everything was unknown to me. I was amazingly surprised! As I said Ode is probably my fave album, so I can only say GREAT OPENING ! :D

they played for 1h35 which I thought was very reasonnable. But I can understand people might have been upset if they were used to longer shows in the past.. I would have been very pleased if they'd stayed longer. Although my legs were fucking soaring (Fran's words) after Why does it always rain on me.. :dance:

Flowers in the window was the big "WOW" of the night for me.. I fell in love with that song. It was sooooo cute (sorry I'm being cheesy here :embarassed:) !

i think that's it.. Dont know what else I could say :P

Oh, yeah !!! something that really hit me in the face, if that's the right term, eye contact ! Man, the interaction with the audience was so great. They kept smilling, laughing and looking at everybody.. and that is something you cannot not notice, especially with a band like Travis. That's another plus for small venue ! (I wish Coldplay were like that :disappointed:) and you were right Sarah, not being sold out didnt make any difference :nice:

Maybe there will be something good this spring or summer that we can go to! I also realllly want to go to a concert-- any concert! Maybe central park summerstage? I've never been to one of those concerts, but I would love to!

I have a minor stomach bug, nothing too serious. It's spreading around this area so the sooner I have it the better. Although hopefully I will be good enough to go to work tomorrow.

I had a fantastic time at the Keane gigs on Thursday and Friday! Friday's was particularly fab as I made front row and it was the last date of the European tour!

Tom was on cracking form despite his voice not being 100%!:D

This was how the Coldplay 02 gigs should have been in December. The atmosphere was incredible!

You're roomie is like my best friend. I drag her to all kind of shows and she just complains all the time... (but I couldnt get her to come with me to see Coldplay :D even though I tried so hard, but she just doesnt like them *yes we are still friends even though she likes only Clocks*

U2 is next on the list, when they decide to announce official dates :dance: July please come faster !!

So many of the tracks on Perfect Symmetry sound great live.;)

I wonder if Keane/Travis will do Glastonbury this year.

In terms of time of week for concerts, Saturdays are top, followed by Friday, then by Sunday, and with the remaining 4 days fighting it out.

 

If U2 play anywhere localish I will try and get tickets, I have money on them doing wembley

"Again And Again" and "Spiralling" both sound amazing live, as well as "You Don't See Me", which Tom said was his favourite track on the album (I can definitely see why).

Add to those "The Lovers Are Losing" and the title track, which both sound fantastic live and non-live, and you start to realise how good the album actually is.:D
