Well generally you don't have to pay too much (if you pay at all) when you're young because you don't make very much, and the government takes money out of your paycheck right away for taxes anyway. But somehow last year I ended up owing money. :(

But you have to file whenever you get any kind of official job, so I've been filing since I had my first part-time job at 15! :\

i have to do my taxes too!!!! hopefully we pay too much and we will get a little back

let's say you make $100,000 a year

you get taxed on like 30% on that and if you did not pay all your taxes you owe money

but you get tax credits for having kids, donations to charities etc.

i think it is actually more. so like $30,000 gets taken out of the $100,000. that's just the federal taxes and then we have to pay state taxes.

yep my dad has told me that, but he has told me too, that then they don't have to pay any indirect taxes (those ones we pay here each time we buy something ;) which we can't disccount on our declaration unless we are an enterprise).

Ari your english is perfect, your grammar is better than mine. i also heard that the swedish people like it with the high taxes, their city streets are clean, no littering, no crime and health care is free ( i think) i had an Au Pair from sweden who i am still very close with) and both parents get maternity leave when they have kids. how nice
