Swizz gets Coldplay's permission to release 'That Oprah'

Featured Replies

Swizz Beatz had his own news to let out the bag on the video set: Look for him to run officially with "That Oprah," his ode to making cake.

"The record started off a freestyle, then the traction went real major," Mr. Beatz said, describing the cut that takes the soundscape from Coldplay's #1 song "Viva la Vida." "Being that I've got a relationship with Coldplay already — I've worked with them a while back — I was like, I wanna turn it into a real record. I took care of the legal side. I'm about to shoot a video to that. Plus, that's where I wanna be at musically anyway. The remix is gonna be crack."

Swizz's second album is due out in the coming months.

Oh my. 'Part of the plan' wasn't that bad, but this is... sigh.

"How to kill a beautiful song"

Lesson number One: Take a great song, for example "Viva La Vida" and start saying wathever is in your head with an awful rythme..

Lesson number Two: Let everybody listen to your crime.

I know. I can't believe Coldplay gave their permission really, maybe it was just because they felt they owed him one :stunned:

SO true ... this remix is pretty crappy. This guy doesn't rap well and the mix almost sounds like it's patched together or it lacks flow....I dunno maybe I'm wrong but it definitely doesn't sound right! Haha and if you hear him at the end his last line is "give me 5 minutes"....I had some trouble giving him 5 seconds! lol

I'm sure the boys don't care though and Jay-Z would probably just slap his forehead if he heard this :P

It's an abomination.

It's terrible. My fiance said they allowed it because they got paid. They have plenty of money. Why, Oh Why!??! They've defiled a lovely song.

x and y was a really unnoticed song. It had no importance. Viva la Vida is their first #1 and is famous without swizz beats. give away a song that didnt take flight on its own like reign of love or a whisper(worst coldplay song ever!!).

I'm sort of interested to know what Swizz's fans think of it. haha.

"The remix is gonna be crack" oooh soo close only 2 letters off. This is the worst thing i've ever heard. it was that stupid trouble medly thing.

what rubbish, jeezus

Well that was craptastic.

i like rap remixes time to time..but this one is truly awful..it just doesn't work
