EMOTION!

Featured Replies

If their is one like this sorry.

My question to all of you is:

Out of all 4 COLDPLAY albums which one for you has the most emotion, feelings etc. coming out of chris' voice, the music, just everything put together when ur listening to it, bad or good, sad or happy?

To me i would have to say PARACHUTES......all those songs when u listen to them its magical.....when i listen to WE NEVER CHANGE i want to start crying.the emotions that come out of that album are so powerful!

Parachutes, no contest.

Either Parachutes or X & Y...

X&Y.Every time when I was listening to it,I found it's hard to control myself.

X & Y. Best Coldplay album. FLAME ON!;)

Wow, it's interesting to see what a huge fan base X&Y has. :D I guess it's the people who don't like it that shout louder than those that do

AROBTTH will always be my favourite though, I think.

Both Parachutes and A Rush Of Blood To The Head make me bawl my eyes out and they give me some serious goosebumps :stunned::heart:

I think Coldplay kind of breathes emotion really. I think each album has their own kind of emotion. There's obviously love felt in every album, but I'm not sure I could pick one as the most emotional.

Parachutes with songs like Shiver, Yellow and Sparks is definitely showing the love.

AROBTTH I think has some songs that are so emotionally charged that they make up for an album that really, for all it's brilliance and the one that made Coldplay huge, has not all that much emotion.

X & Y, despite it being my least favorite album, might just be the most emotional in all directions. There's the indecision of Talk and What If. The love felt in Fix You, A Message and Swallowed in the Sea.

I'm surprised VLV has gotten no nods here because I think it's highly emotionally charged, but just not so much in the way of love. This kind of fascination and dwelling on death is extremely emotional. Lost comes off as more a pop single on the album version, but when you hear the acoustic (its piano so i guess they call those acoustic now) you really see the emotional value in it. 42, although it goes for catchy ballad when he says, "You thought you might be a ghost. You didn't get to heaven but you made it close," and obviously when he says, "Those who are dead are not dead, they're just living in my head."

So I think points could be made most well for X & Y and Parachutes, but I think VLV has this underlying emotion and fear that isn't as stated as brutally honest in all the songs so people don't see it as well. I mean Cemeteries of London talks about God as do a lot of songs - and thats a very emotional thing.

I'd give X & Y the vote with Parachutes a close second, but for me X & Y was the most forced album they've done and I think VLV deserves at least an honorable mention for emotional album.

for me its one and only Parachutes that can't stop me from crying a loads....

if i hear we never change i always go into tears emotionally.

And also Sparks too that song makes me impossible to control myself whenever i hear it.

A Rush of Blood to the Head and Viva La Vida for me.But two different kinds of emotion.VLV makes me happy, hopeful and ambitious, especially towards the end. Your emotions change throughout the album, which is amazing :). AROBTTH, on the contrary, makes me sad, which is nice once in a while

either parachutes, arobtth, x&y or viva.

IT'S TOO HARD TO PICK ONE!! every time i listen to all three of them they really churn up feelings!! :P

parachutes... although AROBTTH is my fav album ;)

Parachutes, plus Careful Where You Stand and See You Soon - Chris really nailed those 2 b-sides.

Parachutes, no contest.

not at all.

A rush of blood.

songs like politik, the scientist, warning sign, a rush of blood to the head, amterdamn.

compared to trouble, we never change?

ahhhh too hard to choose! either AROBTTH or Parachutes.. absolutely love both of them! all the lyrics on both albums just get me everytime...

Except the bit about it being easier to make friends if you lived in a wooden house... I don't think Chris even knows what that means.

true, but i just accept it for what it is.. who knows what goes on in his mind sometimes? but it works! :)

Yeah absolutely, I love We Never Change; really chilled and mellow. Michael Stipe's made a career out of talking gibberish - I have no idea what nearly all his lyrics are about, but he's still incredible.

AROBTTH for me

Same here. It's just got so much power and drive behind Chris's voice.

X&Y. Still my favourite album

I did not know that. Now I know Ian's favorite.:D
