Onto Debs update ...

If it's a video (which I somehow do believe in) there's not only the need in editing it but also the guys or Phil or whoever needs to approve the cut version as it will be published to the public so that probably also takes some time

^exactly my point: i highly doubt it'll be a debs post: it'll either just be a post or a R42 post, i think, and we know that those sorts of things go up on weekends

i've also just eaten the chocolate off a jaffa cake before . i completely dissected the thing and separated the sponge from the orange squidgy bit. it was rather fun :shy:

did everyone else get really excited about the R#42 blog for this reason? I didn't even read it comepleetly at first I just skimmed it to see if it had postcard news

 at your jaffa cake story.. now I really want some damnit

make it Sunday pweeeety pleaaase :bomb: :wacky:

I know :bigcry: it's just that you all talk too much about it and that's not available here :bomb:

Now THAT's the next thing you get in your mailbox from me :P

Naa... I'm so sad with this announcement thing :( And I cried seeing those kitties pics... I've just moved and I miss my cat so much :bigcry: She was my big partner, unfortunately couldn't come with me :( :( :(

I hope some postcard news would cheer me up :\

:laugh3:

:lol::lol::lol:

Awwww...I'll send it with Lori:kiss:

Yeah! *sneezes* No problem! :D

.

 wonders how much it costs to mail jaffa cakes out of the UK, and which countries would confiscate them on the way through customs

It cost me six quid to send a double box to Pris by airmail - but I didn't think they'd let me send food through the post so I lied and said it was soap :laugh3:

hahaha don't worry, I'll find a recipe and try to bake some!

Gordon Ramsay had a guy try and bake one on one of his shows once. They used th exact reciepe and tried to make a big cake version instead of little individual ones... he took one mouthful and spit it out.

JAFFA-CAKE RECIPES :smug:

Jaffa Cakes recipe

ingredients

2 eggs

50 g (2 oz) sugar

65 g (2 1/2 oz) self-raising flour, sieved

approx. 60 ml (4 tbsp) marmalade, sieved

100 g (4 oz) plain chocolate

rind of 1/4 orange, finely grated

10 ml (2 tsp) corn oil

15 ml (1 tbsp) water

method

1. Whisk the eggs and sugar until thick and creamy; when the whisk

is lifted the mixture leaves a trail.

2. If using a hand whisk put the bowl over a pan of hot water, then

fold in the flour.

3. Spoon the mixture into 18 well-greased, round-bottomed patty tins.

4. Bake for about 10 minutes at 200°C (400°F) Gas 6 until golden brown.

Cool on a wire rack.

5. Spread a little marmalade over each cake.

6. Put the chocolate, orange rind, oil and water into a bowl over a pan

of hot water.

90g/3½oz caster sugar

2 eggs

50g/2oz plain flour

75g/3oz/6 tbsp orange marmalade or apricot jam

125g/4¼oz plain chocolate

1.Preheat the oven to 190ºC/375ºF/Gas 5. Grease a muffin or cake tin.

2.Stand a mixing bowl in very hot water for a couple of minutes to heat through, keeping the inside dry. Put the sugar and eggs in and whisk with an electric mixer until light and frothy and the beaters leave a ribbon trail when lifted. Sift flour and stir in gently with a large metal spoon.

3.Divide the mixture among the cake tins. Bake for 10 mins until just firm and pale golden around the edges. Using a palette knife lift from the tins and transfer to a wire rack to cool.

4.Press the marmalade or jam through a sieve to remove any rind or fruit pieces. Spoon a little of the jam on to the centre of each cookie.

5.Break the chocolate into pieces and place in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of gently simmering water. Heat, stirring frequently, until melted and smooth. (I put my chocolate (as long as it's over 70% cocoa solids in a bowl in the microwave and heat at half power for 30 secs at a time until it is melted.)

6.Spoon a little chocolate on to the top of each cookie and spread gently to the edges with a palette knife. Once the chocolate had just started to set, very gently press it with the back of a fork to give it a textured surface. Leave to set for at least 1 hour.
