He must have been VERY nervous playing in front of other well-known musicians, some of whom are friends.

I'd be a bit apprehensive too. It's like doing a massive school recital or play in front of your peers. :uhoh:

why does chris get so nervous on tv? I've seen waaaay better performances of this song on youtube, his voice is so shaky this time, and I've seen Chris running and jumping more too, so I just don't understand why this was so bad :(

Coldplay was sooooo robbed last night....like really Chris Brown....eww! Come on America! See....I soooo do not belong here....UGH!! I need to move to the UK!

but i think he gets nervous because he's used to sing in front of crowds that absolutly adore him, and getting an award ceremony crowd excited about a performance is next to impossible...... ergo, his nerves and insecurity get the best of him......

He gets nervous in front of other bands/celebrities.

 

I don't think he was that bad. His voice was shaky. I liked his movement though.. not TOO over the top. It was fine.

 

Shit happens. Lol.

Hes performance was NOT bad!......I thought it was really good!....

I didn't think their performance was terrible probably one of the best of the nights (in comparison). But the award show in full perspective sucked ass. I waited all that time hoping Coldplay would win, but they just loss, and loss to suck ass bands too. Totally not fair. What a waste of my time, and Coldplay's time. Hope they didn't stay the whole time!

But all in all at least Chris looked A-M-A-Z-I-N-G right!? :D :D :D :D :D

My friend thought the same thing (she is a huge coldplay fan as well. It didn't come to mind when i watched it. But that was the first thing she said about the performance. I loved when he rolled on the floor lol too cute:laugh3:

 

Oh well they still are the best band BY FAR out there. They are AMAZING live and I'm sure he was nervous. I've heard that before that he's gets nervous when he's in front of the camera and other artist. That makes him human

One thing ive noticed coldplays the only brit act to be nominated at all.... in the AMA's I guess thats a feat...

Coldplay doesnt seem to ever have great performances at these kind of things. They have always had subpar performances at the grammys and the MTV awards this year werent good at all just like this. But i dont really see it as a problem b/c this is a much harder thing for them to do. It's harder to perform in these kinds of things w/ so much attention on one person or group of ppl and i think its good that chris isnt always perfect.
