Main character, teenage boy's name= Pelle

another boy's name, bad guy of story= Jason

Main character's best friend (also boy) name= Gary

A few names of lackeys for bad guy (boy and girl names)=

Troy and Tina

Okay now I really need a girl's name. Somewhat a hero in the story. I'd like first and last name please.:)

I knew a guy called Michael Spencer and I just loved saying his name. :)

I'm using that for the main character:D

Now of course you're all gonna want to read this story when it's done, knowing you all helped with the names:rolleyes:

So you are a writer too, 2732??? I'm a novelist... I would love to talk books with you some time :D

As for names, I'm an eater and breather of names. I own a stack of baby name books, a lot of which i got used for 25cents to a dollar. I loooove names. I find the best way to pick names is to say them out loud several times, see how they roll around in your mouth (just like you might do for a baby!) and also ALWAYS write them out several times. Trust your fingers ;)

I'd love to hear about your story! :D

Yea. Names mean a great deal to me too. It's almost as satisfying to come up with a really good character name as it is to come up with a really good story idea!

:D

I agree! Sometimes a good name will stick with you even when it doesn't work for a story, and you just can't make it go away. I have name stuck in my head, "Venice Lovecraft" and that name doesn't want to leave! It'll show up sometime later, I'm sure of it. :D

Now, novel names is another issue entirely. I'm terrible with those! I'm lucky to have one when I'm FINISHED! My current novel is very strange, because the name for it came before the story. I literally got the idea from the name...

That's the same with one story I'm working on. I got the name and developed it from there.

So how many stories do you usually work on at the same time? I find I can't just do 1, my mood changes too much day to day.

Thanks so much everyone, keep 'em coming. (You can never have too many names to choose from!)

What about Fabian, it's unusual and it's use in the book will determine how much of a skilled writer you are, e.g. Hermione, Wendy (invented for Peter Pan)

I'm actually writing another story that has characters named Leoland, Balomar, Faiyon, and Urolaux, so I think I can handle weird names;)

Those ain't got nothing on Virisai :D
