Well obviously! Pink Floyd are classic, I love them. I've never liked Green Day.

 

(I'm not saying this as a sore loser, they've just always gotten on my nerves for some reason)

 

Well frankly, there's just not a lot to their music. Even the epics on AI were just a bunch of recycled powerchord riffs. The one thing that really intrigued me about Jonny's arrangements (with sparse exceptions), is that he almost never used powerchords. He doesn't play a single fifth in parachutes, but finds unique chords, patterns and riffs (see don't panic, shiver, spies, yellow, high speed, GPASUYF, the outros to the scientist/clocks, daylight etc etc....)

 

I just find these riffs a lot more sophisticated than going from fifth to fifth like most of green day's songs. Prog-rock (pink floyd) vs. Pop/punk (green day) is like night and day.

it is depressing, i hate this. I think I might lose control as well if he plays a green day song. the thought makes me shudder.
