^ The race comment was a joke. It was a stupid thing to say and he's apologised to the stewards. :)

Hamilton does seem to get targeted more often drivers so I can understand his frustration. However, I think the penalty for the Massa incident is justified. He's a great driver but I don't like how he always blames everyone else and there was no need to call other drivers 'stupid'.

But I do agree with Lewis that f1 is a racing sport and if you're getting penalised for being racy to the extreme then they might as well not bother go racing.

I agree. They want drivers to overtake but they penalise them for every little incident, it doesn't make sense.

He's a unique driver is Lewis Hamilton. He's fast becoming the Ronnie O Sullivan of formula one.

An incredible talent who struggles to control that incredible talent.

He is. I wasn't questioning his talent or anything. Crashes are an inevitable part of F1, I just think that Hamilton needs to take responsibility for his mistakes.

Completely unrelated but I thought I'd post it here anyway.

Gotta feel sorry for the guy.

Unbelievable. Obviously didn't see it because it's on Sky but that is quite an ending. Delighted for Dan Wheldon though. Indy 500 is a motorsport event I'd love to attend. I'm actually quite disappointed they still don't race there in f1 (using the infield section and half the oval) despite other people's perception of the place.

I've always wondered how the likes of Hamilton, Alonso and co would fare if they transferred to Indy Car. The likes of Justin Wilson who drove for Minardi and Jaguar in 2003 (couldn't cement his place though) has done fairly well since moving to America but there's been hardly any crossovers since, if any. Juan Pablo Montoya did it the other way successful in Indy racing and then moving to F1 in 2001 where he was a real star for a couple of seasons until he lost passion for the sport. I don't blame him. It would be demoralising for anyone as good as he was to see Schumacher in his peak thrashing the whole field.

Glad to see Webber losing only 1 spot from his qualifying position. he is getting there!

Yes, he's clearly become a bit "full of himself" and needs to mature a bit. He should follow Button's example.;)

I love it when Lewis wins races. He always does it in the most fantastic entertaining way. The Chinese Grand Prix which he won this year was arguably the best race I have ever watched in all the years I've followed the sport and no doubt one of the best drives ever, along with his incredible win at Silverstone in 2008. That win in the wet was like Schumacher's amazing performances in Spain 1996 (in a shockingly bad Ferrari) and Monaco 1997.

Agree about Vettel. He's on top of his game at the moment. He's having to work for these victories but he and his team are doing everything right at the moment. Great driver but also in a truly great car. Would like to see Webber make more of the car though but he's had not much luck this year. Unlike Seb he just can't string a good weekend together yet. Only the second driver since Schumacher (Button being the other in 2009) who I can confidently say will win the title this early on in the season.

Awww the good old bad weather performances by Schumi.. :awesome: I remember him winning a race where he started from position 16 in a Benetton Ford ('94?).

Jacques Villeneuve is another driver that comes to mind, probably the most successful one in recent years. He won the Indy Car Championship and Indy 500 in 1995 (I think). Another one is Zanardi, who didn't do particularly well in F1 and returned to Indy Car where he had his tragic accident. The commentators kept saying that it was uncommon for an Indy Car driver to drive in F1 when Villeneuve joined F1 (as in most people do it the other way around).

How could I forget Jacques Villeneuve?! Was never particularly fond of him but I felt sorry for him in that he was hot property for the first two years of his f1 career but then never had a car nowhere near good enough of winning races beyond 97. He did really well in the first couple of seasons at BAR Honda but he kind of lost it after 2001. He like Zanardi and Montoya were snapped up by Williams each time so clearly Williams had faith in Indy racing. And who wouldn't after the success of Villeneuve!

Villeneuve was one of my favourite drivers. He did exceptionally well at the beginning of his career and you gotta admire his courage to join a new team. Shame it never worked out for him at BAR! Must have been so frustrating to barely finish any races and not to score a single point in his first season there.

Also I don't care what everyone's saying, Villeneuve seemed like a really nice guy too. I met him at a practice in Magny Cours back in 1997 and he was very friendly although I couldn't say anything to him because I didn't speak any English or French at the time.

Button comes across as a friendly, down-to-earth guy too, as opposed to Hamilton, who (judging by his interviews) appears to be a bit of an a*hole, irrespective of how great a driver he is. It definitely seems that the celebrity lifestyle and money has gone to his head somewhat. :dozey:

Bahrain GP to be re arranged for 30th October. All I can say to that and Bernie Ecclestone is BULLSHIT. The teams have been full pelt since January and now the season ends just 3 weeks before Christmas. Excessive? Yes.

Also not forgetting Ecclestone has lost a lot of dignity in feeling obliged to entertain individuals with blood on their hands.

October or November ?

What do you mean?

Also I was wrong - the season is planned to finish TWO weeks before Christmas in India. What an awful mess Ecclestone has created. And learning that 21 races are planned for next year - the man has completely lost it.

the season is all but over. the next 6 months are going to be a snore.

True probably. The races have been fantastic but the championship is not. Red Bull and Vettel seem to have an answer for everything.

True. Last year's F1 was far more competitive.

I'm going to be going to Silverstone for the Moto GP next week:D.

I'm going to Queen's Club.:D

True. Last year's F1 was far more competitive.

I do find the races a lot more entertaining than last year though which despite having a close title battle only had a couple outstanding races. There were otter races last year like Bahrain, Singapore, Japan which were bloody awful to watch.

Have 2 races at the weekend, both carrying the same number of points, but the result of the first race is reversed so whoever won starts at the back. That should get some overtaking going :)

Has anyone seen the Senna documentary yet?

Not yet. I'm desperate to see it. Looks an incredible piece of film making. You seen it?

Not yet but I really wanna see it. They're showing it tomorrow evening, I think I'm gonna see it then.
