I fell sorry for you man. Maybe you should get him something good for christmas? what kind of music does he like. I also think you should be the bigger person and apoligize even though you did nothing wrong.

Are you planning on moving out anytime soon? Like when you go to college or uni?

I have apologised, but *sigh*, still....;), He doesn't like Coldplay, and all his music is like oldies!, but *sigh*, i'll get him something ;)

U still have some years to go to see that talking to them becomes really useless, the older u get the less u understand them, mom says U'll understand me when u become a mom and u'll realise that everything I do, I do it for ur own good blah blah blah....... heard dat speech so many times and she almost cries when she says dat she's a bit dramatic :laugh3: but I gotta say that when she's not a paranoid, overprotector or cranky she's really nice!!! Maybe cuz she's not even 40!!

^ Haha David, my Dad is DEFINETELY not that type of person!, We have kind of semi- made up but he hasn't actually apologised, but he'll do something like this all over again sometime!, Today aswell he had a go at me for continously having arguments with my brothers!, And we don't that much, no more than most families!

you dad sounds really stubborn... but in his head he knows you were right... so he should be feeling guilty right about now...

my dad is also very stubborn which used to result in huge fall outs too.. but since i;ve moved out it's wayyyy better... so you hang in there Simon!

That is exactly right!, He knows he's wrong but just doesn't want to admit it!, Sometimes he is really nice though and sometimes..........he is like this *sigh*

I think you're dad is wrong and is such a close person, with all respect.

I'm on your dad's side.

How Is asking for an equal amount as everyone else being greedy?

you don't need as much, it's only fair that you get less.

Plus, your dad has you as a son, I can understand why he has little episodes like that

Hey, the big mouth NY'er is in the house and i dont understand the hostility, let's try to keep this thread constuctive and positive. It's the begining of the Holiday Season, spread some Coldplay love

^^ For real!!!

there's no need for name calling...

There is no need to go on forums making threads about how much your dad annoys you.

Ouch, Nathan......

Anyways, Simon, I'm really sorry about the whole situation. I know how it feels, I've never got along well with my dad either. As a matter of fact, we just got in a huge fight last weekend and completely ruined my week. I didn't talk to him for 4 days after that, but eventually I let bygones be bygones and just moved on. But I'm sure that we'll fight again very soon....

Stick to your guns, don't back down and just wait. I know that you don't want to apologize, because you have nothing to apologize for. Sometimes in times like these both parties of the fight just need some time to cool off in order to get some perspective, so just be patient and maybe he'll soften up again.

But trust me, you are not the only one. Dads are jackasses a lot of the times. :P

Okay, using your psychology, you are saying that you shouldn't make threads about anything! Get out of my hair man!, Please!

Not at all, I just don't think you should share overly personal stuff on forums, I'm sure your dad wouldn't be pleased if he found out about this thread

Nathan has a point. Also hes 65, im going into the study of aging and hey maybe hes having a hard time and just doesnt know how to deal with stress. Also.. simon.. it seems like this wasnt worth complaining about. Not saying its not..

But.. this forum is full of "my life is over" "my dad hates me" blah blah blah type threads.

Simon- your dad is just being a dad. Hes 65 aging and may be having a hard time with life. I think you should actually talk to him sometime. Have like a one on one talk. Ask him how is life is going.

*it bugs me when people say I "hate", just always has.

I have never said hate!, plus he's 64 not 65, and he has been like this whenever I know him!, He does it to everyone!, But sometimes he is as nice as pie!, It's very wierd, and I apologise to you!

Welcome to my world.

I remember the first time I realised I hated my dad.

I had never felt a rage like it.

I asked him how he met my mum (this was just after my mum died, I never knew my dad til then, so I moved in with him so I didn't have to go into foster care, I guess they contacted him somehow, ANYWAYS)

he said 'I was in a bar one night and saw this big fat ugly bitch staring at me and thought "she'll do'

I was about 13 at the time, and so I got angry and tried to fight my mum's corner and he shouted at me for back-chatting him.

safe to say, I moved in with my grandparents and haven't spoken to him since.

and won't ever. ever.... ever.

Long story short, if you want to hate your dad, hate him.

You're a smart kid Si, and you can learn from his mistakes.

for instance, I've learned how NOT to parent.

I would never treat my own kids like that.

learn from it, become a better person.

though, you're already a sound lad.

I like you alot! you've got my facebook if you ever wanna rant and rave.

lol last night i asked my step mom to take me to target so i could go buy prospekts march and she tells me to wait for christmas

so i say i will just get it on itunes

she gets all pissed off and makes me gives her my ipod and computer

and then she tells me not to get it because someone is getting me a coldplay cd

well obviously it will be VLVADAAHF not prospekt

i tried to explian to her that but she thinks im going to ruin christmas

later i locked my door and cried and then eventully fell asleep when i woke up my stepmom was screaming at me to open the door

she got my dad to take off my door and they wont belive that i was asleep!

ugh

well i got my computer back today after loads of apoligizing, they told me not to buy the CD but i still did

i cant help it though i couldnt go a day longer without it!

I have never said hate!, plus he's 64 not 65, and he has been like this whenever I know him!, He does it to everyone!, But sometimes he is as nice as pie!, It's very wierd, and I apologise to you!

Really, you do not have to appologize to me. You know your father better than anyone of us do on this forum. But no need to be saying sorry to me:)
