Disney is playing big company interference with the music industry. Soon enough if they keep succeeding other big companies will promote their own artists and the music industry we know now will be gone :sad:

I completely agree.. it gets on my everlasting nerves how Disney is just.. slowly dominating & overtaking the music industry. Like Cobalt said, there will be nothing left.. Disney is acting as a barrier to good music.. People who actually do make amazing music cannot get through because these Disney people are blockading it for them. Taking all the awards and all & the number one spots that belong to people with genuine, intangible talent. I can make your a steadfast promise that not this upcoming one, but the next upcoming one, the Jonas Brothers & Miley Cyrus will have a Grammy. They are considering nominating Miley Cyrus for an Oscar this year because of her song in the movie, 'Bolt'. Umm.. WTF?! That's all I really have to say about Miley's potential Oscar..

 

Like I said before, they don't even make music half as phenomenal as Coldplay. And who won an AMA? Those Jonas characters! Why is this? Disney. That is all. Down with Disney. Please. Return to REAL music. :/

UGH!! I HATE THE JONAS BROTHERS SO FUCKING MUCH!!! Seriously, they wish they were as good, talented, and good looking as coldplay is!!!! They should be happy coldplay even acknowledges their existence!! Coldplay is fucking AMAZINGGGGGGGG!!!! Jonas Brothers suck ass!! Hah hah I love Chris!! Especially when he makes sarcastic remarks like that...which is a lot =]. As for Miley Cyrus, I hate her too!!!! And when I found out she liked coldplay, and Chris...I hated her even more!!! I guarantee you she never even knew about them until Viva la Vida came out!! Everything Miley does just pisses me off....I wish she and Jonas Brothers would fucking fall off the face of the earth already!

I agree with you guys completely on the people made famous by Disney!!! They don't deserve it nearly as much as other people who have been working for YEARS!! This is unfair! Coldplay truly deserves everything they are nominated for with all their effort and everything that goes into yet...they other people who don't deserve it as much win!! What is wrong with the world??

I loathe the fact that they're disney manufactured, untalented pop stars too, but I don't have anything against any of the people personally. I'm sure Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers are nice people, and I'm sure they do wish they were half as good as coldplay. But I never understood why people have such extreme opinions of celebrities. They're human, and people would never react so extremely towards these people if they weren't all over the tabloids.

 

Of course it's ludicrous that these people received awards instead of coldplay, but it's not their fault they were voted in by idiots.

In defense of the Jonas Brothers, their AMA award was the equilavent to the Grammy's Best New Artist. I don't have a problem with their award because of the category they were nominated in and they were not up against Coldplay.

 

Also, I don't think Disney deserves all the criticism that they are getting. Disney markets their product to a certain population, and unfortunately, that population (tween/teenagers) is what the music industry is aiming at. The music industry is controlled by that population and what they want and like is what the music industry pushes for. Disney is only doing what they feel will earn them money.

 

Older established artists complain about this all the time. They complain about how the music industry has lost it's way, and they even complain about how radio stations are following suit. It's hard for a lot of established and older artists to get quality airtime and even record music that they really want to record. So, until the music industry has a major shakedown then things are going to stay the same. I bet you that within the next few years there will be another boy band explosion because it's time for one to happen.

 

Don't get me wrong, I don't like the Jonas Brothers or Miley Cyrus. But, the majority of the blame lies with the music industry. They would rather listen to the kids, who are willing to fork over their allowances and part-time job earnings, for this kind of music instead of the older music lovers, who are more selective when it comes to spending their money on music.

^I completely agree. It's not the artists fault but the way the industry is nowadays.

 

BTW they played the halftime show at the Cowboys-Seahawks game tonight. They sounded horrible.

Don't lose hope. The Grammy's been pretty good at not rewarding crap like Britney Spears. So I really can't see them or Miley getting awards either.

One thing's for sure - it'll be interesting to see what happens once Disney cuts theirs and Miley's cords, setting them off into the "real world". Many artists that made it big with Disney completely vanished from the public eye once they became independent.
