Chris’s POV

When I contemplated what I was doing, I realized how stupid it had been. There I was, sprinting towards the back of the school because I had nowhere else to run to. I wouldn’t even be running if Will wasn’t chasing me, and he wouldn’t even be chasing me if I had just kept it together. But of course I could never keep it together, so now I was running.

I managed to propel myself over the fence without breaking something, but just barely. Gasping for breath, I glanced back and saw that Will had taken the easy way around the fence and was now a few feet closer to me. I let out a small squeak as I flew past some trees and ended up next to the stream. It was pretty wide and deep, but I could power through it if I really wanted to...

In my moment’s hesitation, Will caught up with and practically tackled me. My heart beat furiously as I yelled at him to let me go, but he only dragged me backwards. I tried to hold onto the tree to my right, but it slipped away from me.

“Why are you running?” he demanded, talking directly into my ear.

“Why the fuck are you running after me?” I cried, trying to kick him in the shins.

“What’s wrong with you?” he spat back, finally pushing me away. Victory.

“I’m not the one who chased me into the bloody woods!” I pointed out more quietly. My little escapade across the grounds had drained me of my energy, which was fleeting to begin with.

“Yeah, well I’m not the one who keeps freaking out, am I?”

There it was. Even he could see what I was doing to myself. A feeling of sheer helplessness fell over me and I groaned. I decided I didn’t want to stand anymore, so I collapsed on the damp ground, pushing my back against the nearest tree. “I’m tired. I’m tired, Will.” I had simply lost the ability to keep up my walls of self-defense.

“Of what?” I heard him ask.

“Life.” I muttered carelessly, resting my hand against the rough bark of the tree.

I was shocked by the tone of Will’s voice in his next question. “Are you okay?” He sounded worried; scared even. Gentle, too. Kind of like the school psychologist. I felt tears forming in my eyes and I buried my head in my hands.

“Chris?”

I felt obligated to tell him the truth. “No,” I admitted, looking warily up at him. “I feel like...” I paused, wondering why I was weighing him down with my problems. Will didn’t deserve to be weighed down with my problems, I was sure of that. He was a good, normal kid. He was still okay, but I was surely beyond help. “Shit, why am I telling you this?” I muttered to myself. I held his gaze. “I’m sorry...for running, I’m sorry.”

“But...” he sputtered, looking frustrated and upset.

“Let’s go back, yeah?” I suggested, pushing myself up from the ground. My muscles were stiff.

“Chris.” he said incredulously.

“It’s fine, let’s go.” I knew the smile on my face was completely fake, but maybe it would make him back off a bit. I grabbed his wrist and began pulling him back through the trees. He yanked his hand back indignantly.

“You’re insane.” Will said, following me nonetheless.

“Yeah?”

“Why won’t you just talk to me?” I didn’t answer, so he continued. “Do you not trust me?”

“I trust you.”

“Really?” he said disbelievingly. “Come on, stop.” I turned around to see him glaring at me. He’d stopped walking, so I grudgingly halted as well.

“What do you want from me?”

He chewed on his lower lip as he walked up behind me. He stopped once he was a few feet away. He held out his arms slightly and looked at me curiously. “I want you to fall.”

“What?” I asked, bewildered.

“You’ve done this before...just close your eyes and fall back.”

“Come on, that’s ridiculous. I trust you, okay?”

“I don’t believe you. Prove it.”

“What if you drop me?”

“I won’t.” he promised. A nervous feeling settled in the pit of my stomach, and I felt ashamed of it. It was such an easy thing to do, but I was still so hesitant. I trusted him, didn’t I? “See? You won’t do it!”

“No, I will...but if I crack my head open on a rock, it’s your fault. I’m suing.”

He smiled, and I frowned. However, true to my word, I heaved a sigh and turned around. “Are you...ready?”

“Yep.”

Just do it. I told myself. Without a second thought, I released control of my body and let myself fall back. For a fraction of a second, I felt like I was freefalling. My heart skipped, but before I could even think about hitting the ground, he caught me. Will’s hands were hooked under my arms, and he was holding most of my weight. Blinking against the sun in my eyes, I peered up at him. He was looking down at me, his face a strange mix of patience and empathy.

“I told you I would catch you.” he said, pushing me upright.

“I told you that I trusted you.” I pointed out.

“You hesitated.”

“Normally you would have found it hilarious if I’d hit the ground.”

“Well, maybe...” he admitted, smiling again. “But why won’t you tell me what’s wrong?”

I started walking again, staring at the grass under my feet. “You wouldn’t understand.”

Strangely, as we walked back to the school, he dropped the matter. Instead he began to talk about the trip his family was planning to visit relatives in Edinburgh. I was only half listening. Most of my thoughts were focused on keeping myself together, at least until I could lock myself in my room and forget about my life outside.

Okay...that's the end of Chris's strange drama incident...:laugh3:

But there will be more. :wink3:

Edit: Drama, that is.

^^ooh, yay! i love this story sooo much! :D

and i'm really glad that you wrote chris' view of that. :) *goes to reread*

Well, I hoped by putting Chris's point of view on things, his actions wouldn't seem completely...nonsensical. :D

By the way, I love How Infinite Is Space? .

It's hilarious. :laugh3: Chris is so clueless.

Into a Rush (Part 3)

*Miss's POV*

Chris moved his pawn 7 spaces forward. He almost had all 4 of his pawns in home. Unlike Chris, Phil still had none of his pawns out of start. Poor Phil didn't stand a chance against me, nor Chris. I picked up a card from the pile, slowly, making it seem a little dramatic. I faced the card finding it was a seven. I let my pawn drift 7 spaces forward, leaving me one space to victory. "I'm losing..." Phil declared to himself softly.

"We know." Chris said, wearing a smug grin, knowing he was going to win. If he withdrew a two from the deck, he would win.

Phil picked up a card and as soon as he showed it to himself, he frowned. He placed it in the discard pile, and he didn't move any of his pawns from start. He got a 6 card. It was now Chris's turn. I prayed that he wouldn't get a two. Apparently, my prayer didn't work. Chris won.

"I win." he declared proudly as Phil store at his four sad little pawns..

"I never win Sorry." Phil said glumly.

"I've never won a board game." I told Phil. "Don't feel lonely."

I don't know why but, I think about Guy anytime I hear 'sorry'. Maybe I'm sorry I let him leave me. Maybe he's sorry he left me. Maybe we're sorry we left each other.

I was washing the dishes when I heard someone at the door. I walked over to the front door and looked through the peek hole It was Charlie coming back from school. I swung open the door and we gave each other a hug as the bus raced off. "How was your first day of school?" I asked him.

"It was fun. We made bracelets." He rummaged through his backpack and then pulled out a bracelet with tons of beautiful, colorful beads. It looked so adorable. "I made it for you." He said as he put it in my hand.

"Really?" I asked as a gave him a hug. "Thank you! It's beautiful." I slipped it on my wrist and we both walked into the house. I had him lay his little Power-Ranger backpack on one of the chairs in the kitchen and then I continued to wash dishes and he watched TV. I washed and washed, dried and dried but lonesome didn't fade. It only got worse.

aww, thanks! :D

now hurry up and write the next part! (like i should be talking :P)

Is it just me, or are there a lot of fics that have been forgotten about? A Warning Sign, that one where they go to the amusement park...Remember that one? :P

The Disney World one? Wasn't that finished?

I think I remember ohmystarisfading saying for A Warning Sign that she had finals in two weeks two weeks ago so maybe updates will start coming again? I hope so I really love that story.

You are right though, it does seem like updates and new stories have slowed down over the past week...

No...it wasn't the Disney one. It was another one where Chris kidnaps them all and forces them to go, but Guy doesn't like rides...it was only one chapter.

Come Back And Look For Me [CHAPTER SEVEN]

"Yeah the irish guy!" I heard as my hands rolled down my face. "Is their a problem?" asked the driver. "Yeah! Bono is not the lead singer of Coldplay! I am the lead singer of Coldplay!" I proclaimed. He laughed. I didn't as he continued to drive along the road. "Are we almost there?" I said, trying to put a smile on my face. I wrote a song about God putting a smile upon my face, but it hasn't happened so far. "God did put a smile upon your face, didn't he?" said the driver, smiling. "Excuse me!" I said, amazed. How did he hear my thoughts? Was it a coincidence?. "You know, I was just thinking about that song!" I replied, scratching my head. "Well, of course! How else would I know? There is no such thing as coincidence's aswell! Where did you hear that word?" asked the driver, with a massive grin on his face now.

"So...are you saying that you read my mind?" I asked, putting my hand through my hair. "Yep, can't you read mine?" he replied, laughing very loudly. "Of course I can't and neither can you, noone can!" I exclaimed. "I think your grammer is abit wrong, young man. You can, I can and everyone can! We are humans!" He proudly said, taking a right turn. "STOP THE CAR!" I shouted. The driver stopped, and turned to me. "What is it, son?" he asked. "Can't you read my mind?" I said, smugly. "Yes! You want to know what's going on, don't you? You want to know what has happened since you died, and who God is exactly. You want to become the lead singer of Coldplay again and you want to get back with Gwyneth!" The driver replied, stopping the engine and putting the handbreak on. "Well, yeah! Yeah I do!" I said, in awe. "I think you better get out of the car and follow me!" replied the driver, opening the car door and walking out. "Wait for me" I yelled, as I opened my car door and started running after him.

Come Back And Look For Me [CHAPTER EIGHT]

"Wait!" I shouted as I caught up to him. He had stopped in his tracks by an alley. "Down here" he said, as he started to walk down. It was the alley. The alley which I went down what seemed like months ago, the alley which got me in hospital, the alley which got me into that taxi, the alley that got me killed, the alley that got me to heaven and the alley which got me in the situation I am in now. "Why are we going down here?" I asked, hesitantly. I wanted some coke. I needed some coke. I followed him. "In here!" he said. It was the same door, I walked in. It was exactly as I remembered it. "So, do you need drugs?" the driver asked, as I looked around the room of drugged up men. "Why are you doing this?" I asked, as I turned to the driver.

"You know about my life, don't you! You know that God told me to get back with my wife and not do a single bad thing! You are trying to make me do a bad thing!" I exclaimed, angrily. I wasn't going to let temptation get in the way of a new start in life. I walked outside and closed the door. The driver followed me. "I asked a question!" I said, staring angrily into the drivers arms. "I'm not, did I once tell you to get some drugs? Besides you have no money!" He replied. "Who are you?" I demanded. "I was sent by God to guide you, I am your spirit guide". I stopped and thought for a minute. My whole life flashed before my eyes as I stared up into the sky. Without even looking at the man, I asked him a question. "What is your name?". "My name is Cupid"

Come Back And Look For Me [CHAPTER NINE]

I laughed as I processed what I just heard. "Where is your arrow then, mate?" I said, grinning. "My name is Cupid. I am the God of Love and I am here to guide you on your quest to get back with your wife!" he replied, looking at me with absolutely no expression on his face. "It's alright, mate, I don't need your help!" I said, walking away. "Oh I think you do!" He replied, following behind me. "Just drive me to The Bakery and I will sort things out from there!" I demanded, walking towards the car. "I will but you need my help" he replied, smiling. "All I want, Cupid, if that is your real name which I doubt it is, is to understand what has changed! What was all this crap about everyone being able to read each other's minds?" I said, leaning on the car bonnet. "Chris, when you died, everything about you dissapeared. Noone knows you, noone remembers you so lots of things never happened and lots of things have happened. For some reason in your life time, you stopped the ability to read people's minds!" he replied, leaning against a wall.

I laughed again, scractching my head. "So, I stopped someone from developing the abilty to read people's minds?" I asked, sarcastically. "Yes, somehow, you did. I don't know how so don't ask me, know one will know but some reason, if you hadn't died, noone would be able to read people's minds!" he replied. "Well answer me this, if you know everything! How come I can't read anyone else's minds?" I asked, smugly, awaiting a stupid reply. "Well, Chris, this is what I hoped I wouldn't have to tell you. Chris, you are dead. You can't change that. Noone can see you, did you see in the drug den? Noone noticed you, that is why noone said anything. Chris, dead is dead"

LOOK! Look what I made...it took me hours to color...

Oh! And the new chapter of Schoolboys is nearly ready. Tomorrow it shall be out.
