Basslines - Guy (Kind of a poll)

Featured Replies

I was wondering... in what coldplay song do you think guy has his best paper, or plays his best, i don't know how to say it...

what about this: what is your favourite bassline between all the coldplay songs?

i picked some:smug::

-everything's not lost (favourite:D)

-in my place

-rainy day(favourite2:D)

-glass of water

what do you think?:thinking::thinking:

i pick rainy day! guy is the key of the song:P

I really like the bassline in God Put A Smile Upon Your Face :D

And like you said, Rainy Day has a great bassline.

I'll be back when I think of more

hmmmm i know these arent very obvious ones, but i ABSOLUTELY LOVE the basslines in talk and violet hill. just absolutely love those two.

anyways, from the ones you put, i think glass of water is good too

by the way, i love this thread idea. thanks for making it!

edit: oh and i forgot: THINGS I DONT UNDERSTAND has a fantastic bassline!

YES! How did I forget about Things I Don't Understand?! The bassline makes that song :D

Personally I like the bass all the way through Crests of Waves, and when the bass kicks in at the beginning of Square one or part way through What If.

there was a thread exactly like this... let me look it up for you:

allthough I don't mind talking about his bass playing:

Low

don't panic

Life in technicolor

I ran away

daylight

crest of waves...

ooooh, wonderful thread.

what if.

white shadows.

violet hill.

god put a smile upon your face.

parts of cemeteries of london.

rainy day.

trouble.

ladder to the sun.

x&y.

sparks and daylight. the songs that made me realize how much i love guy<3

I'm having an X&Y revival tonight and have rediscovered my love for Low - the bass in that song is great, really strong :D

what about life in technicolor and clocks? i think the bassline is pretty strong in those.. :nice:

low, white shadows, god put a smile upon your face, sparks, clocks, violet hil, life in technicolor, death and all his friends, cemeteries of london

to be honest, i personally love his bass in every single one of their songs, but my very three favorite are still talk, things i dont understand, and violet hill...not necessarily for how complicated they are or how much skill they require, but for the amazing way they sound. all in all the bass all through out talk and violet hill sounds very good, but there are certain little spots through out both of those songs that just drive me wild when i hear them! (in a good way of course)

and the bass is just absolutely incredible all the way through things i dont understand.

basically, I LOVE BASS. it's my favorite out of the instruments that you would find in a rock band...and not just because GUY plays it, although that does help...

I agree with the first post for Rainy day! His groovy bassline really make the song!

Then, I'll say:

-White shadows

-Violet hill

-GPASUYF

-Daylight

-Thing that I don't understand

-Everything's not lost

-Sparks

-Crests of waves

-Death and all of his friends (on the 'second part', I just love it)

-Talk

-Trouble

-Yellow (I love how it drives the song, kinda like in Trouble actually)

And many others I don't think of xD

I'll just repeat my post from the other thread :dozey:

Definitely Sparks and God Put A Smile.

White Shadows, Violet Hill, and Lovers in Japan are good as well!

Oh, and I'm loving the bass in Rainy Day. :nice:

Rainy Day and Violet Hill.

WHITE SHADOWS

SPARKS

LOVERS IN JAPAN

LIFE IN TECHNICOLOUR

RAINY DAY
