first Coldplay's song that you listened...

Featured Replies

I was 11 years old when i first heard Yellow.

Remember asking my dad how people could write a song about a colour.

A year later I fell completely in love with Coldplay:smug:.

Yellow.

It had just came out, I was 17 & just entered university. I remember exactly where i was & what i was doing.... they grabbed my atention since the first moment i heard those notes :nice:

Same age, same situation: I was entering university and I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I first hear them... but for me, it was TROUBLE ^^ The piano notes just trigged something in me, I was listening to the radio in my bedroom and I just stop in haze and I thought 'wouaaah, what is this?!!'. And the addiction began...XD

In My Place ;)

I was 7:P

I remember watching its video on VH1 with my mum in the evening:D

she always said that Chris was damn sexy:laugh4:

Yellow but Fix you was the one who turned me into a coldplay fan!

I bet it was either Yellow or Clocks, but Talk turned me into a fan.

"Speed of Sound", then "Clocks" made me love Coldplay.

Freaky!!!! only that i was in my bedroom watching tv when the vid for yellow came up, and....

I just stop in haze and I thought 'wouaaah, what is this?!!'. And the addiction began...XD

:D

i think... yellow? clocks? haha, can't think that far back ;__;

[notsorandom]

i need some coldplay right now & i left my mp3 at home. ):

i probably heard yellow back when it was big, but i don't have any specific memory of hearing it until 2005.

i heard clocks all the time in 2002 and 2003...you couldn't really escape it, and my mom played AROBTTH on heavy rotation anyway, but i just didn't pay that much attention. i knew that clocks was a nice song by coldplay, which had a skinny, practically bald lead singer that danced funny :P

in may 2005, i was walking through my house on the way to the bathroom and i passed a TV. the speed of sound video was coming on and my friend had mentioned how good it was, so i sat down to watch it. and i was a completely converted coldplay lover in 4 minutes, 38 seconds :D

I totally remember it.

Before I even knew who Coldplay was, I remember reading an interview with Leonardo DiCaprio (I think it was him) and they asked him what he listened to when he had his headphones on, and he said "Coldplay. Very loud."

And then, a few months after that (this was back when live8 was going down), I remember I was straighting my hair in my room, and the tv was on. I was watching Live8, and all of the sudden I see Chris playing the piano and I remember thinking, "Oh God, he's hot!" :laugh3: but I still didn't know they were called Coldplay until someone of the TV said it.

Blah, blah , blah, I looked them up.

I've been hooked ever since :D

Oh, and on a side note, I knew there was "some actress" who named her kid Apple back then, but I didn't know which actress it was, and then all of the sudden, I read that Chris' daughter's name was Apple, and I was like "He's Apple's dad!" :laugh3:

That's really how I came to know "that actress" was Gwyneth, and everything else, haha.

Difficult questions - I think it was Trouble because it was so often played on TV to that time

I think it might've been Shiver; we'd finally gotten cable that summer and MTV still played a decent amount of music videos. I bugged my sister by singing the chorus (and nothing but) all the time.

Yellow or The Scientist. I'm not 100% sure... ;)

clocks and yellow! man im feelin good:D

Yellow! I remember hearing it on the radio when it first came out and then I saw the video and I was hooked! :D The Coldplay  began and it's been going strong since then!

My friend sent me The Scientist by msn a few years ago :D! And then the obsession began!

Mine was Brothers & Sisters. I was listening to Radio2 when they played it for the first time. I was 6 years old, and I haven't lost my love for Coldplay to this day....

amazing!

I first heard yellow because it was on the radio all the time, but I didn't know/care about the name of the band. So the right answer is probably Don't Panic.
