January 29, 200917 yr hey guys I couldn't find very many cover version threads on here so I'm just wondering if people used to post them but you guys were such a tough crowd no-one dared do it again?! ;) anyway, here's a cover version of Chinese Sleep Chant. Probably my favourite song on Viva La Vida...probably because I'm such a big fan of My Bloody Valentine haha but yeah, i'm usually really fussy about getting stuff just right and the guitar solo's a little bit different, the vocals aren't AMAZING and the guitars are one take but I was only doing this for a bit of fun :) enjoy! http://okcomputer.googlepages.com/DiscoBible-ChineseSleepChantColdplay.mp3 haven't the time to put this on a video and upload it to youtube. Apologies. It's not that big a file though :) edit - link updated. MP3 properly tagged with my 'band'name on it.
January 29, 200917 yr dude. that's fucking awesome!!! quite impressive but there's something wrong in the solo anyway good work !
January 29, 200917 yr Author thanks a lot! :) and yeah, like I said I just played it differently, dunno why, really :o ...that emoticon looks a bit too shocked compared to what I was looking for haha
January 29, 200917 yr Okay, usually I just ignore these coldplay cover posts when they come up, but I took the time to listen to this, and I must say it is absolutely amazing! Every element is performed perfectly, all the way done to the subtlest of nuances. On top of that you somehow managed to sound crisper and more effective in places than the album version.   My hat is off to you sir.

But if it helps the drums are all programmed so obviously not going to sound like the real one ;) butyeah thanks a lot. Glad you two enjoyed it so much. Also, it's the first proper recording of my fender jaguar :) (except the solo that was on a strat) anyway i'll stop typing now!
February 1, 200917 yr sounds just like the real version ! keep up the good work! maybe you should think of forming a tribute band, I would definately come, and i'm normally not into tribute bands :p
February 4, 200917 yr That was ridicoulsy amazing. Keep up the good work, would like to hear more from you:D
February 4, 200917 yr The sound reproduction is incredible...really sounds a lot like the Coldplay version. Very well done. and I thought you couldn't make a good cover of such an ambient song.
February 4, 200917 yr Wow. That was absolutely amazing. :stunned: This is almost better than the original in some ways, and the attention to detail is just breathtaking. The guitars, the voices, the whole atmosphere is just perfect... even though you did the solo differently, i love how it sounds. Man I love this. Thank you for sharing, and I hope you have more stuff like this up your sleeve :D
February 23, 200917 yr i think its ok considering its one of the easier coldplay songs to play and mess up on (with all the disortion, delay and muffled vocals.) might want to change the name of the band (if that is the name of your band, i hope it isn't)
February 24, 200917 yr I beg to differ, its one of the easiest to cover. Chris did it on the free Amsterdam show. I got the echo time from there. Turn the distortion on, and treble on, bridge pickup. Done. I give you credit! Vocals are the hard part and it was amazing! Good Job!

Disco Bible's just a 'stopgap' name til I can think of something else if I end up getting a band together ;)
