I know we already did our favourite albums of 2009. But thats just one straight up category. Lets do our own little award show around the same time as the upcoming Grammy Awards.

 

How it works:

Nominate up to 5 albums or artists for the polls. I'll open up polls on the weekend. Either send me a PM, post it on my coldplaying "wall", or post your nominations in this thread.

Make sure the albums and artists that you nominate are eligible. I.e. for new artist you can't vote for Coldplay :P

Overrated album of the Year

-albums that critics loved, or even fellow coldplayers loved, but you didn't see why so much hype

 

New Artist of the Year

-so a band that released their first full album or an EP or something of the like in 2008.

 

U.K. Album of the Year

-so an album by a U.K. band here

 

North American Album of the Year

-so an album by a North American band here

 

Rest of World Album of the Year

-so non-UK, non-North American artist

 

Song of the Year

-nominate any song from 2008 that you liked. This one could be complicated since there are so many choices, so try not to just pick obscure b-sides.

So for comeback album of the year I dont' think we'll count Oasis as there was 3 years between albums. Possibly will include R.E.M. though even though it was just 4 years. But they really burst back onto the scene with that album.

 

And for the record TV on the Radio aren't new :P This was there 3rd album I do believe.
