It's hard to see me in this one unless you know where I was and what I was wearing. My head's down in this picture  I'm on the right, behind the creepy guy in the white t shirt. I have a green shirt on.

Haha that's when I woke up too!

Except that's still an hour after you.

Yah we've kind of gotten a lot of rain down here in the past week cause of (I think) the hurricane that was down here in the gulf.

Oh, yah that's early. Especially since you slept in. My sleep schedule has been officially screwed all summer. I've been going to be at like 5 or 6 and waking up at 2 or 3. :uhoh:

no friday classes is always the best!

my favorite boy in my classroom, this 4-year-old autistic boy, has never ever spoken, and no one was sure if he'd ever speak. today we were playing this alphabet song, and suddenly, out of nowhere, he STARTED SPEAKING. he sang along with the song. another teacher and I were sitting on either side of him, and suddenly we heard him start saying words, and we looked at each other and started freaking out... he sang along with the entire song twice, for about 5 minutes, and he said words like "igloo" and "monkey" and made all of the letter sounds. we were all sobbing, and we brought in the principal and she was crying too, because now we know he has the ability to speak and he's started. they've been working with him for 2 years, and suddenly today... it just burst out of him. it was really one of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen. it was amazing.

Wow, Zoo, that's absolutely fantastic! And especially great that you got to witness it! That is very beautiful.

I actually just checked my schedule, and yah my earliest classes are at 11, haha.

I can't even describe how amazing it was. seriously, it was just so incredible. ahhh :) I got some of it on video with my phone, but it doesn't do it justice... you know, you hear about this sort of thing sometimes, but I never thought I'd see it. I wish everyone could have the same experience as me! :bomb:

we called his dad afterward too, and he was so grateful and happy :) he couldn't wait for the bus to get home so that he could see his son, it was great! especially because all of these families are pretty low-income and not too well off, so to give him news like that was pretty special :nice:

*tries to stop being all sappy*

The parents must be ecstatic! I really hope he continues. Do you think he will. Well, even if he doesn't just keep on talking constantly, it was still progress! That really is a great experience, I hope you'll keep us updated!
