Briggins would definitely recommend you start with Funeral, as he's recommended it in the past to the same question.

I'll admit that I was spoiled by the accessibility of the neon bible singles when I bought funeral, so it took me a while to warm up to it, especially the neighborhood songs. But when I did I saw it had much more depth, and the ending stretch is amazing.

I really like it so far! :D I'm on Crown of Love right now... I'll definitely buy the album!

 

I haven't really heard much of Neon Bible, so my views are untainted :P

Yes, you all know me well. I do recommend Funeral. One of my favouritest albums of all time. Neon Bible is amazing too. And this new album is blowing me away on second listen.
