Here's why: A hybrid's battery is lugging around the idle gasoline engine most of the time, and on the highway the gasoline engine is lugging around the idle battery/electric motor. Either go 100% gasoline or 100% electric. It's the least wasteful use of energy. I recommend a tricked out Toyota Corolla.
