Radiohead Are Poor

Featured Replies

"Fix You" follows a heavily used Coldplay formula: quiet, semi-boring, chill, building, building, building HEY BOOM WE ASPLODED and now we're quiet again.

there's my intelligent input. rofl.

Hahaha i like both songs but I just said that cos the guy lost it and made me laugh with this post :

:P

Yeah, I know. I'm not saying that Fix You is so great or anything. I was just wondering why they were being compared. I expressed that I find Fix You to be really overrated in the Radiohead thread.

It's a seriously overrated song, and coldplay's rep would be ten times better off without it. But as much as I hate it, it's not a particularly bad song. The organs were new for coldplay, and the chords, guitar and drum crescendo are all really nice. But the falsetto is so ripe for parody that sometimes I wish the vocals in fix you and proof would disappear like some bad dream.

I don't think it's the best ambassador for the rest of coldplay's music anyway. Whenever I see people making fun of it, I frown at the fact the same person will probably never hear Bigger Stronger. Fix you is a lot easier to appreciate when you are familiar with the history of coldplay's music and see that its not a typical coldplay song.

I laughed so hard at this. Thank you :laugh3:

I cringe a little every time I hear it in a movie or tv show.

Bigger Stronger > Fix You, definitely.

lol. but assuming you're serious, how many other coldplay songs can you name that follow that formula? I can only think of Such A Rush at the moment.

yes

double yes!

How do you guys feel about How You See The World? Because, that definitely took the place of Fix You after a while and became pretty much my favorite song of Coldplay's.. Until I heard Violet Hill. I'd have to listen again. It's been years I think.

Rush of Blood, Amsterdam... I guess that's all I can think of at the moment.

i like it a lot!. one of my favorite coldplay songs, and i think one of their best written

Look my friends, I ain't the only person who hates Radioshite. Noel Gallagher, Robert Plant, yes THE Robert Plant! As he famously quoted, "Radiohead are rhyming crap".

I like How You See The World a lot, too. :laugh2: I think it's a great song. Are you referring to one of the two versions in particular?

haha like if their opinions were relevant

i like both of them

I love Radiohead but, to be fair, they are not an easy listen, and I would not have given them so many chances had people not told me that I am missing out. Therefore, I came to like Radiohead because I wanted to like Radiohead. Now, there is no effort at all, and I find them absolutely fascinating.

But to those who don't like them, I think it is fine. I don't think anyone who dislikes Radiohead is stupid for their stance, and that repeating idea drives me nuts. In fact, perhaps I am the stupid one because I spent so much time trying to like a band that I didn't originally. I try to imagine who else I would like if I gave them the same amount of chances.

Excuse me, the stupid button might stop working because you're pressing it so much!

Whoa, Briggs!

So, what, just because not EVERYONE in the world likes them, that means they're crap? That, to me, seems like bad logic.... Almost... Twisted Logic.

Eh? Ehh? :deal2:

Is that joke no good because I used a Coldplay song and not a RH song?

Whoa, Briggs!

This person isn't even saying anything worth arguing.

We can just let him continue to make himself look like an idiot.

Five gold star stickers for you Briggins. *gives*

Yes

Yes! Where can I redeem my five gold stars?

Now I know there are a lot of people on here that likes Radiohead, so please respect my opinion. It is only my opinion.

Don't you like how we totally didn't respect his opinion?
