Coldplay to play the American Brum in May

 

Good afternoon. We're pleased to announce that Coldplay will be heading to Birmingham, Alabama on May 18th for a show at the Verizon Wirelesss Music Center. Tickets go on sale from here on Monday 16th March. We're told that this is the band's first show in Birmingham, AL since January 2003 (a September 2005 show was cancelled when Chris had a virus).

Coldplay to perform May 18 at Verizon Center near Birmingham

 

Coldplay will return to the Birmingham area for a May 18 concert at the Verizon Wireless Music Center, promoter Live Nation announced today.

 

Tickets for the date in Pelham, priced at $35-$97.50, will go on sale at 10 a.m. March 16 at 877-598-8698 or www.livenation.com. The show time and opening act haven't been confirmed.

 

Coldplay, a Grammy-winning British rock band, is touring to spread the word about its latest CD, "Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends."

 

Coldplay last performed here in January 2003 at the BJCC Concert Hall. In September 2005, Coldplay canceled a show at the Verizon Center, blaming a virus that had sickened lead singer Chris Martin.

I've been to Atlanta (3 hours) to see them, Houston (7 or 8 hours) to see them, and now I'll get to drive 10 minutes to see them. Wonderful news.

Yeah, it's at what use to be the Oak Mountain (now Verizon Amphitheater). Bout 15 miles south of the BJCC on I-65.

 

Never seen Coldplay outdoors. Hope the weather cooperates.

What pisses me off the most about Live Nation is if I searched for 1 ticket it keep giving me section 201, if I searched for 2, section 204 and if I searched for 3 or 4, I would get 202 or 203. Why the fuck couldn't I get 203 for 1 ticket. :angry: Fucking Live Nation, I hate those cunts!

Went back this morning to see if I could better my seats, but the best available now was 20 rows behind our current seats, so I guess the presale was the way to go. I wonder where all those seats in 101,102, and 103 went? I guess radio stations got some, and maybe to folks who have season passes at the Verizon Amphitheater?
