Coldplay to appear in new Sacha Baron Cohen film?

Featured Replies

I've heard from early reviews that this is one of THE funniest movies in a long long time!

^People say that about EVERY humor movie, though.

Yeah, they said that about Mall Cop.

Sacha Baron Cohen's character Bruno hooks up with Bono and Chris Martin

Ā

How has this not been posted yet? Unless it's an April Fools joke, but I don't think it is because Bono was already set to make an appearance...

Ā

But if it is just a joke...I WISH IT WAS REAL!

We're used to Bono banging on about feeding the world.

Ā

But now he and Chris Martin have collaborated on a single that MOCKS the efforts of Band Aid. WTF?!

Ā

Comic Sacha Baron Cohen has roped them in to record a single for his latest movie – all about his camp alter-ego, Bruno.

Ā

The film’s Dove of Peace track has already been part-recorded in the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Lyrics include: ā€œFor people of Africa who live in hell/ They will never wear Chanel.ā€

Ā

Our spy reveals: ā€œChris Martin was in stitches throughout the recording and only just managed to get his lines out.ā€

Ā

Sting and The Village People are also due to record lines for it this weekend. And Madonna and Sir Elton John are rumoured to be getting involved, too.

Ā

THIS IS SO WIN!

hilarious if true and i cant wait to see this movie... but look at the April 1st 2004

I just did some more research...Spin reported it as well, don't think it's a joke.

Left To Right: Bruno, Bono, Chris Martin and MadonnaWhat has the power to lure the likes of Bono, Chris Martin, Madonna, Elton John, Sting, and the Village People to record on the same track? Disaster Relief? Global Warming? World Peace?

Try comic Sacha Baron Cohen, a.k.a. Borat, who is soon to be better known as Bruno, the enthusiastically-gay Austrian television reporter at the heart of Cohen's new destined-to-offend spoof film Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Male.

Ā

According to a source quoted by UK paper The Mirror, "Sacha's character releases a brilliantly cheesy but subversive single, 'Dove Of Peace,' which mocks the likes of Band Aid. It runs close to the bone but it's all very tongue-in-cheek."

Ā

For example, a sample lyric: "For people of Africa who live in hell / They will never wear Chanel."

Ā

The track has reportedly already been partially recorded, with Bono and Chris Martin doing their parts in the legendary Abbey Road Studios.

Ā

"Chris Martin was in stitches throughout the recording and only just managed to get his lines out," the source revealed.

Ā

Sting and the Village People are said to be recording their lines this weekend, with Madonna and Sir Elton John rumored to contribute at a later date.

Ā

Cohen's new film, Bruno, is the follow-up to his 2006 smash comedy Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. The film, which is expected to premiere in the UK in July, is currently being re-edited for a U.S. release after the Motion Picture Association of America gave the initial cut a NC-17 rating.

:laugh3:That's interesting! And I was just thinking about all those nice folks today - and there they are, all singing together!

July 11th in the US. This is a REAL story. I read all the major movie sites and they've reviewed it and ALL of them say it's the funniest movie they've ever seen and they talked about how Chris and Bono are in it.

here's the trailer... it looks hilarious! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxPb_s42Qu4]YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.[/ame] click on it cause it is flagged .
