Where can I get the Safety and Blue Room EPs and others?

Featured Replies

I'm having a hard time finding them. I have a collection of Coldplay albums that I want to complete, and I currently have Parachutes, A Rush Of Blood To The Head, X&Y, Viva la Vida, and Prospekt's March. I want to get all of their albums, including all EPs and singles and B-sides. Where could I be able to buy some of these? Some of them aren't on Amazon. And I wasn't sure of where I should put this topic. Thanks!

Some of them are very expensive and only available (possibly) on eBay. I know that Safety falls into that category, and some of the Dutch releases as well. Probably one of the only other places in the world to get them is here :)

There's a discussion about collections in this thread. You can find most of the singles and the Blue Room EP fairly easily on eBay. I just finished my collection recently and started last summer.

Safety EP is the tough one... I bought a fake one awhile ago, but luckily got my money back. Be careful out there on eBay. ;)

Oh, wow! I can't believe I forgot about eBay! I'll try that. Thanks!

Does anyone else know where else I can get them?

Good luck on Safety.

Brothers & Sisters is an easy find, but for singles, you'll probably have better luck on eBay (I've only found one single in stores).

novah could you post a picture with all of your collection! please!

My last one (the white talk promo) is still en route. As soon as it gets here I will be posting updated pictures. Promise! :)

I can give you Safety...unless you wanted a physical copy of course. Other than that you're probably stuck. Certainly nowhere retail is gonna have rare stuff like that.

No, I don't know how to find that one. :( It's apparently really rare. The What If single was hard enough to find, so, like Safety, I've decided I can live without it. :)

By the waaaay... Talk Live Holland CD3 is still unclaimed! ;) Maybe I made the puzzle too hard... :(

Yeah I think What If was only released in a couple countries. Very hard to find.

i got my don't panic single in the mail today..i was annoyed cuz it didn't come with the case..i contacted the seller and they said it was to expensive to ship with the case..and then told me it would be a waster and just to buy a regular case that it is the same as any other single case..and i was like no it's quite unique to coldplay!

Did the seller's product details state anything about being sealed or in a case? If so, they have a liability to follow through.

If not, it may be tougher.

no it didn't say that, but i think they should post that it wouldn't come in a case..but you guys do understand right. like i said he said any old single case is the same as a coldplay single case and it clearly isn't..right? coldplay have there unique cut and case that is clear on the back, etc...

Sometimes you can luck out and find them at record shops. I was visiting friends in Austin a few weeks ago, and found the complete Talk Dutch EP (3CDs) for only $8.95 at Waterloo Records (where in fact Coldplay have visited before!). I was so stoked! It was used, but in great condition, especially the CDs. Anyway, you never know what you might find if you go browsing! :shocked2:

Indeed. Did the seller provide a picture, by any chance? I find that pictures are vital tools for comparing the product I receive.

But otherwise, you just may be out of luck, and the thing you now know is not to trust that seller again.

corkus, they just had a general picture. the one ebay provides. but oh well. i told him to send me a pic of the case he would send me for 5 dollars to see if it is the case i want.let's see if he provides one..if not i'm just going to buy another single that i already have and use that case. and yes you are right..apparently they list this on all of their things i just got out of luck. i think i am going to go search his other ones and see what they say. maybe i can just scare him into sending it to me for free by like saying i am reporting you to ebay.

Or threaten negative feedback... but do it in a nice way. I've used the old "I don't want to have to leave negative feedback over this. All I want is..."

Be very specific on what you want from them, what you expected from the auction, and back it up with what's in the actual listing you won. :)

i am trying to..i am i don't want to have to report this from ebay..he just keeps telling me it is normal and i say no it's not. he said the only case that is different is the scientist one which it clearly isn't! i told him to at least send me a picture of the supposed case he had it in. and i said could i have a refund and i will get this single elsewhere!

i sent him a message that says this!

oh and also your original listing implies a case would come with this item. i think you should send me the case free of charge i don't want to leave negative feedback. your listing said plastic case/aust release and it also said the case was in mint condition. also you said that all your listing say that case is not included and none of your listing say that cases are not included.

yesterday i completed my LPs collection (along with Prospekt's and Live 2003)... after some moths trying to get parachutes.

getting coldplay here in spain is almost impossible :dozey:

you ask in 100 stores, they all say they have tons of 'viva la vida', but nothing else.

oh c'mon! i DO have viva!!

it freaks me out :veryangry2:

Hey folks, been a long time since I posted, but for those beginning or trying to complete with collections, don't give up on getting your hands on the rare goods. Aside from Ode and a few test press promos... And my long sought after Astoria press, I'm damn close to a completist collection from Safety through X&Y; after buying a house, I'm not sure if i'm going to continue with Vida; it gets expensive.

Anyhow, I went about it by getting my hands on all my region releases (us and Canada), then moved onto the uk releases, Japanese, Dutch, german, etc....

Using sites like eBay, GEMM, musicstack, netsoundsmusic, etc... And constantly monitoring hundreds of record shops around the world, I was able to get several copies of What If, my Safety ep, copies of the Virgin EP, an SOS vinyl test press, etc... With sellers eventually contacting me when they located rare items. Building relationships with good sellers is key. It's how I primarly gained most test presses and acetates.

Aside from Ode and Safety, which you'll primarily find on eBay, and the extremely limited test presses, not much else is impossible to find, you just have to dedicate hours to building your collection. It'll come; give it time.
