The Advocate Posted August 16, 2003 Share Posted August 16, 2003 Everyone is looking for originality and unless you've never listened to another person's music and just happened to pick up a guitar and teach yourself how to play, then I don't think anyone will ever NOT be influenced by something or someone else. Everyone needs to stop concentrating so much on what other people are listening to and just focus on what you like. There will ALWAYS be something out there that you or someone else doesn't like. I don't like a lot of stuff that's out now either, but if it was nu-metal, bling bling rap, manufactured pop, or pop punk it would be something else, so just GET OVER IT.
