Chris Martin donated this double platinum disc that the band were given for sales of Viva la Vida to the South Devon branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. It is signed by all the band, and a real collector’s item. As many of you will know, Chris is from South Devon and he has personally donated the disc to the branch in support of the great work they do to help people in the area who are affected by MS, a disease that can be truly devastating.

I tried to bid but think the reserve may be huge....so I gave up at 200GBP :(

It worries me that a lot of their previous feedback has been withdrawn and they have a history of selling tickets etc, seems strange for a charity but then I am of the "Trust no-one ilk!" Hopefully it's fine.

Thanks so much for taking the time to look at the disc on ebay. I have just read over the posts and I realise there's a few very valid concerns so I will try to answer them here!

 

Just to give you a bit of background about who I am and why I'm posting here - my Mum has MS and she volunteers for the South Devon branch of the MS Society. When I realised that they had put the disc on ebay but hadn't actually promoted it anywhere I decided to give them a hand so that you guys, the people who would most appreciate owning the disc, would actually know about it!

 

So in answer to the above posts:

 

1. They can ship abroad - on the ebay listing there's an email address ([email protected]) and you can email them to arrange shipping abroad.

2. Good point about the feedback but I think it's just because the MS Society hasn't made much use of ebay in the past. The sale of it is being arranged by the fundraising team at the MS Society National Centre in London. They can be contacted on 0870 241 3565 or [email protected] (although there won't be anyone in the office until Tuesday) and they will be able to guarantee the authenticity of the sale.

 

The reason Chris has donated the disc is because a member of his family is close friends with a member of the family of someone on the South Devon branch committee - he is really supportive of the cause and it is fantastic that he has done this. It proves to me once again what a nice chap he is!

ps: In case anyone is wondering, I am a Coldplay fan! I reckon X&Y is my favourite Coldplay album - a controversial choice perhaps, but I could listen to 'Talk' over and over again. And frequently do!
