So, I'm not sure whether this has been done but I was thinking of creating a post where people can submit their problems and surely someone in this community can help them or offer some great advice, tips, ideas.

So, to get this rolling, I have an English assignment, I'm fine with the concept and everything but I need an issue that the media won't stop talking about. Basically I need to talk about how the media positions an audience to see the story from one side.

Alternatively, I can just talk about ways the media controls the public through their skilful manipulation without a particular example issue but preferably I would rather use a story. I could do Coldplay Vs Satriani if anyone finds any negative Coldplay articles. (See what I mean we've seen both sides of Coldplay Vs Satriani but the media may choose one side to be the victim and the other to be the villain.)

Thanks and I'm keen to help you guys too.

P.S. I love maths<3

Impeccable timing - FOX news "reporting" on the "spontaneous" tax protests, such as in San Antonio at the Alamo & elsewhere -- how they position the audience to see the issue from one side is all just a matter of observation. It's all about buzzwords and catchphrases, repeating the same old saw, and using emotionally charged language, etc. to push their ideas - to some degree of success, unfortunately.. What was the old saying? 'Tell a lie often enough and people begin to believe it's true.'

I'm pretty good with English and Spanish, so if anyone needs assistance, I can help with that. :)

EDIT: Also, I'm a music guru, so if anyone's taking music classes or has any questions pertaining to the technical side of msuci...I got your back. But maybe I'm the only one messing with that. :p

anybody want to write a memior on my first grade experiences? Any takers?

edit: I'm good at science. Probably not as good as I think I am, though. If you need help w/ Biology homework, you're set, but I'm not good at physics or even chemistry. Or if you're in middle school, I can tell you anything you need. Then again, that's middle school, so you shouldn't need any help.

“Fairy tales speak to us about our darkest childhood fears and fantasies”. Discuss.

Need to refer to at least two texts studied on the module.

Haven't chose the second question yet...

Ok there are two ways of approaching of this,

1) The victim or main character take snow white or cinderella for instance - they are innocent beautiful, honest, pure and liked by everyone. The villain however is everything we don't want to be they are evil, greedy, ugly and over determined, cold hearted. Determined to ruin everyone elses lives to make themselves feel better because they have nothing and feel worthless ( a fear). Also fairytales incorporate the theme death - oh the witch died.. etc etc.

2) Today's fairytales have been edited to appear more light. In actual fact, original fairytales are can be quite dark and sometimes sinister- often a lot are incredibly sad and daunting. See Hans Christian Andersen or the Grimms Brothers. Inparticular I advise everyone to read the story of a mother by Hans Christian Andersen you can find it on the net.

The reason why fairytales have been edited today, is because they serve as an early education for children. Children will aspire to be like these heroins and heros and therefore, it creates a great basis for society. It creates morals and teaches wrong from right like fables.

The language in a fairytale will choose to who a reader will relate too - i.e. they will speak favourably and elaborately

I need some geometry help. In an 11-dimension universe, if the universe is expanding, then what effect does this have on the geometry of the strings?:P

...the distance formula is distance equals the square root of x two minus x one all squared plus y two minus y one all squared...

Could you talk about how different media, depending on their own philosophy, manipulates people's opinions? In the US, there are media outlets such as CNN, NBC, ABC, and CBS, that many would say that have a liberal agenda, while media outlets such as Fox News have what many would say is a conservative agenda. So, if you're a conservative or just watches Fox News then everything that Fox News says is the truth while anything that CNN says is wrong, and vice versa. An example of this would be the recent trip to Europe that Pres. Obama made where he said Amercians were arrogant. Fox News only played that comment while CNN showed there was much more to the speech. Other examples would be on gun control, taxes, and health care. You're not going to find all one-sided articles because media outlets preach their own philosophy.

There are many issues that the media won't stop talking about, at least here in the US, and those are Iraq, taxes, health care, the stimulous plan, and the bailout.

Oh I like the string theory! :D I guess they'll start bouncing around and transform into new shapes... or maybe not :P
