Love and Communication

Featured Replies

I was just wondering...

How do you think it's your relationship with your parents? I mean in terms of communication?

In my case... I think the communication with my parents is bad. And even though I know they love me and I love them too, I barely feel like I can tell to them any of my problems, concerns, feelings, thoughts... like they wouldn't understand.

My dad loves me and does a lot for me but we haven't got a good connection, so when he aks me how I am I just say, ok and he says fine...

And my mother, has such an strong character and we cannot talk mostly about enything because she's so closed minded with her thoughts and beliefs! She loves me a lot thought.

The point here is that there's not necessarily an actual correlation between love and a good communication, and you cannot have for granted a good communication-confidence just because there's love on it. I wish I could count on my parents a little bit more, but anyway I am all grown up and I learned how to manage it during about 20 years, so I think is just ok, now. But if I get any children, I would like to have a good communication with them.

So in your case, how's the communication with your parents?

... if your last question is not the same as the title thread may be you better change the title....

my relation with my parents is very good, always.

they were always willing to listen my problems, thoughts even if may be they don't agree much about them (most the time they agreed).

i always has said here i kind of considered my parents as if they were my bro and sis on that way, i feel confident to talk with them about anything, anytime and i always be free to have my own beliefs and decitions. :)

but i know most my friends and cousins don't have this same relation with their parents :\

anyways i agree on what you say about that is not necesary to have a good communition with the fact that they love you... i guess that communication is a matter of each person character, if they don't talk much with you or you don't talk much with them, it doesn't mean you don't love them or that they don't love you.

What are you talking about? Did you read the whole text I wrote? I think it's well connected.

your whole post is about parents relationship with their kids,

yes... love and communication between your family.

I can talk about everything with my mum, but my father is very resevered.

He doesn't like what I'm doing, what I like, what I want to do, etc.

My mum supports me everytime she can, but my father always talks everything bad.

Mine's good. I don't tell them everything that happens but if it's like bad or anything that I FEEL like i gotta tell them i go to them. I don't hate them, I love my parents but i don't know why I can't communicate with them as much as I should.

Mine is normal (whatever that means) with my dad, but there's almost no communication with my mom. I try sometimes, but it's really hard for me to talk to her about things. Yesterday I tried to finally tell her how I felt about my relationship with her, and she went crazy and did some pretty undesirable things. :disappointed:

Something like that. My dad understands me MUCH better, I usually fight only with my mom. But I know they love me and I love them.

THIS.

At least, we're not alone.

Hah, seems like so far I'm the only one who hasn't got a good communication with any of his parents.

 It's not like I feel that bad. But thanks.

i have no idea where to begin about the relationship b/w me & my parents. let's put it this way:

exactly 1,000 days until my 18th birthday. omg, only 1000 days left!!

  • 1 month later...

Mmmm...it's pretty nonexistent. My communication skills are bad to begin with...with anyone, so...

But it's not like I'm upset about it, though. I'm okay with that.

This is pretty much the story of my life !!!!! Except I only have 210 days !!!

Uhm well i never talk about my stuff with my parents. They don't really have a clue what's going on in my life. Ah well, i don't really mind that much. It's just weird to see my friends with their parents 'cause their relationships differ so much from mine

my relationship with my mom and dad are good, very good i'd say, but could always be better ;]

me and my mom are two totally different people, was hard to communicate when we were living together, but since i now live with best friends, we're buddies! and me and my dad - we've always been the same. he likes whatever i like, and he's always supported my crazy ideas. they're both fun and what i love is the fact that they're awesome around my friends! i love 'em both to death!
