I am kind of one of those people that started liking coldplay yesterday, except I actually consider myself a fan. Before that I only liked VLV< then bought a shirt, then thought, " Oh shit. HOw am I a fan if I only like one song." SO then I listened to fix you. I know all about the members, and their only album I don't have is AROBTTH. I have a love hate thing for the mainstream.

At least now I have people to share the Coldplay love with. :heart: When they tell me they like VLV, I suggest a couple of other songs they might like from Coldplay, and now I get messages from a bunch of people whenever they fall in love with an older Coldplay song. it's cool. But I'll always be known as the 'Original Coldplay Fan' among my circle of friends and aquaintances. ;)

 

And the more listeners they get here, the better, cuz then they might decide to perform here in this country in the future. ;)

actually, i think Malaysians are closet Coldplay fans. :P

 

or at least my circle of friends anyway. i never knew that any of them even liked Coldplay's songs until they found out i went for the concert in Singapore cos it was all over my Facebook, including photos i took. then suddenly i have some of them going "OMG!!! you saw Coldplay live??? So lucky!!! How was it??? Was it great???"

 

but then i'm not the kind who would openly declare what/who i'm a fan of myself either. it's only when someone mentions it & if they seem genuinely enthusiastic enough, then i'll be like "oh yeah? me too!" & then the ball gets rolling from there... :)

I was only expressing what I thought.. just my opinion. And I know what you guys mean about not having anyone to talk about Coldplay to. Sure there are people in my school who LIKE viva la vida but they know nothing else, therefore not being able to talk about anything else about coldplay other than the plagiarism and the song viva.

Btw. I do understand about people who only like one or two songs from a band. BUT the thing that DOES annoy me is if they prance around saying they love them when they only know of one or two songs.

Yep I would underwrite that too but you have to consider that a lot of people are too superficial to do this. Although we have all the possibilities, even you tube on which we can listen to almost every song popular bands did no one has the time or the interest to really go in for something. So they just listen to VlV and think it's a great song and that's why they say the like Coldplay. Not everyone is so much into music, and these people probably have other interests on which they spend more time, like nails, dying their hair and Germanys or another Country's next Topmodel :veryangry2: - refeering to my classmates in tradeschool. Back to topic.

 

I can't understand this too because my life was always about music but I can't expect that everyone is the same. I have a friend who really likes "The scientist" "Clocks" and "Fix you" and she also says she likes CP but don't think that she is asking me for other songs of them. She just has other things on her mind.
