3d movies

Featured Replies

You know when a movie gets made in 3d, and you can go and see it in a special 3d showing when wearing some special glasses and the pictures 'jump' out at you.

So do you think they are a good way forward for the film industry, or you couldn't really give a flying feck?

I think it really depends on the film. For instance, somethiing by Piixar or something with a lot of computer animation would really stand out in 3D. And things like Star Wars and Star Trek would obviously be incredible in 3D. But I think, for something like the Jonas Brothers movie (I did NOT see it :P) it doesn't make much of a difference.

3d is imax cinema?

i've watched a documentary on an imax, and it was so amazing, it felt as if you were there :o

so answering the question if those 3d films will cost at least the same are "normal" cinema may be they will do well, i doubt people would like to pay like the double just because is on 3d.

The only cinema around these parts is the Vue in festival place, which has been upgraded to cope with 3d films, and I believe they charge the same rate for the film to be shown in 3d or for it to be shown in 2d.

*edit - it doesn't, I've just checked, just over £8 to see a film, midweek daytime as well!*

Avatar looks interesting when it finally comes out

what avatar? Sid?

all i know about cinema in my city is that they are closing and that we used to have a VIP one, i don't know about 3d thing.

Those are the same type we were given today to see Coraline in 3D  :laugh3: But they (Showcase Cinemas) made us all give them back as we left  Vue let us keep the ones they issued us!

Does you vue charge extra for 3d films Sarah?

If so they would have budgeted in the cost of replacement glasses in the ticket price

The Vue cinema i went to was not a local one to me, it was the one in Leicester Sqaure cos i'd gone up to London for the day with a few mates. It was a couple of months ago now and i can't remember if they charged extra for the film being in 3D or not  My local cinema is the Showcase Cinema we went to today, which does charge extra for 3D films.

How annoying that they charge extra.

Film people moan about how cinema audiences are falling, but fail to work out that say at £7 a ticket, a group of 3 mates will pay £21 to see the film, excluding any overpriced food/drink. For the same £21 those same 3 mates could wait and buy the dvd for £15 and still have enough money to get some food.

3-D movies SUCK. All they do is be purple and blue and red and make you wear retarded glasses that sort of hurt your ears sometimes anyway :\ They aren't even 3-D-looking.

True dat

Only because I can't watch 3d films due to my left eye :(

  • 1 month later...

I went to see Monsters Vs Aliens in 3D Imax when I was on holiday in Vegas! It was the first time I've ever seen a 3D movie and it was very impressive! This Friday I'm going to a thing at the Imax in London called 'Under the Sea 3D' narrated by Jim Carrey lol
