Coldplay tour jinxed by illness

CHRIS MARTIN must have smashed a mirror, walked under a ladder, opened an umbrella indoors and left new trainers on the table.

The COLDPLAY frontman has been hit by a run of stinking bad luck that is blighting the band’s world tour.

Chris was forced to cancel a show in Saratoga Springs, New York, on Wednesday after losing his voice.

He has also been in agony after burning his arm on scorching hot electrical equipment backstage.

And spells of appalling weather at Coldplay’s Stateside outdoor shows have been putting a real dampener on audience spirits.

Chris and bandmates GUY BERRYMAN, WILL CHAMPION and JONNY BUCKLAND broke the latest bad news on their official website.

The statement said: “We’re sorry to report that Coldplay have been forced to postpone due to illness.

Pains

“They have asked us to apologise for the inconvenience but we are currently in the process of re-arranging the show for another date.”

I went on tour with the lads last year and I can tell you Chris goes to extraordinary pains to make sure he is fit for gigs.

He always carries a wee bottle of anti-bacterial handwash to give his paws a scrub every time he shakes hands with fans. The boys also take a fitness trainer on tour to keep them in tip-top shape.

And they have a special catering team to make sure they are well fuelled with healthy grub.

*A t’internet video clip was posted recently showing Chris discussing his doctor’s advice not to perform.

Sounds like the quack has finally got through. Which is just as well.

The boys have another 35 dates to play on their Viva La Vida tour in America before they land on our shores again in September.

Get some whisky down the old pipes, Chris, you’ll be right as rain in no time.

*Ian no online articles posted that video...I think he might be referring to you posting a link to the clip :D

is chris trying to say he wants his hand clean for the fans to touch or he think we have dirty hande and he wants to be prepared lol ?? x

Not sure if 3 days off will be enough for his voice:cry:

Thanks for posting!!!!

FEEL BETTER CHRIS!!!!!!

Bad health, bad weather, bad flame-carrying, BAD LUCK! :\

Get well soon, Chris! Your fans are worried! :(

 i think they're saying he wants his hands to be clean BEFORE he shakes the fans' hands. ;)

It's just common sense - when you shake that many hands you're going to come in to contact with so many germs.

He has also been in agony after burning his arm on scorching hot electrical equipment backstage.

I know the The Sun isn't the best source of journalism, but it was well documented how Chris got the burn and that's not it!

I was about to say that ;)

Our hands aren't necessarly visibly dirty, but with all these germs and bacteria they really have to do it !

Awww his voice ??? I'm really worrying now... :\

But this newspaper doesn't seem very documented, so we never know !

Well he said himself it was his voice...he just needs to make sure he lets it recover and not do what he did in 2001 and carry on regardless and almost lose it for good.

Yeah I totally agree ... Even if that really sucks for their upcoming shows, I prefer that they cancel some shows rather than Chris loses his voice... That would be terrible :\

Love you Chris....................get well soon...........our fans want you to be healthy and happy...............

awe....that is pretty bad luck...

hope chris gets better:D

My favorite is "Chinese Medicine Chant".

Personally, I was hoping they'd play "Glass of Antibiotics", but maybe they'll save that for the final leg of the tour.
