News on the Cavill front!!!

The Tudors hunk Henry Cavill will star as the lead in the new kidnapping thriller, The Cold Light of Day.

 

According to THR, pic centers on “a cocky young Wall Street trader who reluctantly vacations with his family in Spain. When his family is kidnapped, he is thrust into a government conspiracy and must unravel his father’s darkest secret in order to save his loved ones.”

 

Mabrouk El Mechri, who directed the faux Jean-Claude Van Damme documentary JCVD, will kick off production Sept. 6 in Spain.

 

Henry recently wrapped the Greek god fantasy Immortals co-starring Kellan Lutz, Freida Pinto, and Mickey Rourke.

and so the cardinal is having secret meetings to allow him do so, and goes to visit Francis.

You should, it's an amazing show :great acting, wonderful costumes and pretty much accurate on historical facts even if they took some liberties with the chronology line or some characters.

 

You haven't missed too much, in the first episodes, basically: Henry is married to Katherine of Aragon (from Spain and aunt of Charles V, the emperor). He is +/- happy with her but she can't give him children anymore (due to age gap and lots of miscarriages). Wich bugs Henry who's OBSESSION is to have a male heir (which is stupid since the crown can be pass to a girl in UK, which was not the case in France at the same time). Anyway, the greedy Boleyn family having noticed this, put Anne (Boleyn's daughter) into Henry's arms to seduce him and become queen. The trick is, Anne refuse to sleep with the king if they're not married (because she knows he uses girls as kleenex and she want a 'secure' position). And that's why Henry is so eager to marry her...She didn't like him at first, but it will change.

Now you can enjoy the rest of the show :)

Well first, when Henry met Anne, he was 40 and her about 20...so Here, JRM is much younger! Plus, when Henry made his pact with king Francis (which was in episode 1), Brandon was already married to Henry's sister (which in real life was Mary and not Margaret AND she was first married to Louis XII, king Francis predecessor) Here, they 'mixed' the two sisters to just have one and since they already put Francis on the show, she couldn't have married Louis XII, so they make her marry the king of Portugal...

On the Tudors front (well...related front) Filming has started on 'Camelot' for the Tudors team of Creators. Check out this article from IFTN:

Production gets underway next week at Ireland’s Ardmore Studios on the historical television drama series ‘Camelot’. Worth an estimated $32million to the Irish industry, the ten part series will film in Ireland for 22 weeks.Principal photography will commence on Monday at Ardmore Studios and will take in various locations in the surrounding Wicklow area. Speaking to IFTN today, MD of Ardmore Studios Kevin Moriarty, said “’Camelot’ is an important series in the ongoing development of Ardmore Studios, following on the momentum generated by ‘The Tudors’ over the last four years.”

Indeed the drama re-unites many of the award winning team behind ‘The Tudors’ series which filmed in Ireland from 2006 – 2009. The Borgias is the new project of Micheal Hirst (screenwritter and creator of The Tudors, as well as screenwriter of the Elizabeth movies with Cate Blanchett). They are at the filming stage right now but the project will feature Jeremy Irons as the main character ^^It will be aired by Showtime, just as the Tudors.

hum, thinking about the 'spanish' part in that serie, i have a curious question.

as he was married to a spanish -the emperor's sister- does she speaks spanish any time there or have some strange accent when speaking? :thinking:

 

-here tv shows it totally dubbed in spanish :dozey: so i can't see that, i only noticied that with Francis, he had french accent, but obviously between english and spanish they don't make a difference as magic magic all them speak spanish, you know-

Yeah, in the original version Katherine has a spannish accent and sometimes speaks in spannish (to ambassadors or her daughter) For example here (S1) For the record, tha actress is irish in real life ^^

I dunno if she's doing a good job :shrug: I can only speak for the french characters which they did a great job. Francis is a french actor so his accent and his french are accurate :P

Haha yah. Sometimes it's easier to speak your own language with a different accent than it is to speak a different language with that language's accent.
