I always thought they would be playing it (as headliners) because of that very obvious Glastonbury shaped hole in their schedule. Was disappointed when they weren't.

This would be great though :D

It would be cool if the rumour is true... But guess it's all speculation until the official announcement.

Tickets are all sold out, and due to the registration system there isn't many on the secondary markets, the only place is to try and win tickets.

It will be all speculation until 8pm on the Saturday when the "Special Guests" come on stage, that image is from the handy pocket guide which leaked earlier in the week

Nope :(

No Muse and Coldplay for Glastonbury 2009' say organisers'

Muse and Coldplay will not be playing this year's Glastonbury festival, organisers have told NME.COM.

Both bands had been rumoured to be playing The Park stage at this year's event, after several outlets fell for fake Twitter posts.

However speaking to NME.COM, Emily Eavis quashed both rumours, though revealed there will be at least one more special guest playing the festival alongside Klaxons, who announced themselves for the stage yesterday (June 23).

"I'm glad Klaxons announced themselves so their fans know they can catch them there, we have another surprise on Friday and it's really exciting for us," said Eavis. "It's not despite the rumours. We're well excited."

One act who is playing Eavis said she is especially keen to see this year, is Friday night (June 26) Pyramid Stage headliner Neil Young.

"Neil Young is a massive deal for me personally," she declared. "It's been a lifelong thing to get him here, it's a dream come true getting him, so I won't be missing that!"

Eavis also said she doubted her dad and co-organiser Michael Eavis would ever really quit Glastonbury, despite recent speculation.

"I don't think he'll really retire," she admitted. "It works really well at the moment."

The Klaxons were pretty good though, although when they came on stage a good 20% of the audience went away.

Well they're not exactly Coldplay or Muse, are they........................ :dozey:

I've heard rumblings that CP will be playing the 40th Anniversary Glasto next year....

Maybe just be rumours...but you never know :D

I'd be great to see them on Glastonbury again!

They most certainly need to play Glastonbury again.
