I kind of regret not seeing her on the monster ball...mainly cause she came here twice. Especially the first time. My friend went and the tickets were less than €40.

No she wasnt.

 

Pop stars now a days use back up tracks and sing over them. Some artists use back up tracks just cause they simply can't sing live ( For example Rihanna , listen to her singing Only Girl and you will notice it) .

 

Other artists use it just as a back up , and mainly because they are going to belt or do the ad libs more tecincally demanding. Sometimes they use it to "catch a break" and they sing it , but is lower so you can't really hear her voice clearly.

 

Take a look at the complete video and you will get what I'm saying.

Yeah, from the videos I've seen she may use backtracking but she sings in basically all of the whole show except dancey bits like that... and to be honest who can blame her, it's incredibly difficult to maintain vocal control/emotional involvement and dance strenuously at the same time. Even opera singers can only do it up to a point.
