I loved Yellow but it was the Scientist that clinched it for me.

It's also the song that is the hardest for me to sit through without feeling like crying as it's the song that will forever be linked to sad memories.

It's weird how it's Speed of Sound for so many people :P

Well that was their biggest single release of that era. Plus it's a terrific and catchy song.

There are very few sh*t songs back then in 2005 compared to 2008 for Viva :dozey:

You mean... shit songs coming from other bands ?

Yep, from other singers. ;)

Thanks Rudy ! :P

And yes it's true sadly, but Coldplay's songs sound even better now :D

Chalk up another one for Speed of Sound. In 2006, I was converted, and I've never turned back. Likewise, my wallet has never been as fat since. :P

I was laying in the couch, listening to the readio with the house completely dark.

Suddenly a beautiful piano song starts and I :wideeyed: "wow, what song is this?" and then the guy in tha radio sais: "You just heard Clocks by Coldplay"

It was September of 2003 and since that day Im addicted!

'Till Kingdom Come

I have heard other Coldplay songs before that but after that song, I knew I just had to see what Coldplay was all about.

Double Post :shocked2:

politik.

first song off the best album ever written. i was hooked:nice:

Death Will Never Conquer...

lol, I know It's unusual. This song made me a fan of Will Champion. As someone who loves music but can't play any instrument, I was amazed by his talent. Ever since I listened to this song, I tried to find more and more info about the band and Will. And then I sunk into them.

It doesn't mean that I've never heard of them before. I've known them since Yellow. But only a few of their songs that I crazy about (Yellow, The Scientist, Speed of Sound). Then came VLV and LRLRL. And they killed me.

for me, i had always loved clocks and speed of sound and known coldplay mostly by those.

but then viva la vida came out as a single early last summer and i fell head over heals IN LOVE with it!!! i honestly can remember a conversation i had with my sister in the car when that song was on and we were talking about how much we liked it and wanted the full album too.

i litterally could not wait to buy the album, so instead i went online and basically listened to the full thing there (its amazing how youtube can double as a playlist) :D i kept clicking on "related videos" which was of course lead me to more coldplay songs. i think i spent at least an hour listening to a bunch of random songs by them i had never heard before and there wasn't a single one i didn't like.

that's when my major fan-ism started. :) so am i a somewhat a recent fan? yes. but am i any less crazy and slightly obsessed as everyone else?? no, i highly doubt that ;)

For me it was talk and Speed of sound. I heard Talk on the radio, and I thought it was good.. But since I bought singstar rocks (and sung speed of sound) I am a huge fan!

EDIT: I think that was in May or June 2006 or so..

The Scientist: MTV $2 bill show: 2002

"Lovers In Japan". I was going through an extremely rough time. My uncle died last February and I felt as though I needed new, more relaxing music to reflect my heart ache. I remembered Coldplay and although I didn't really like them before I decided to give it a shot. I bought "Lovers In Japan" and instantly became hooked. Chris' voice was like nothing I had ever listened to before. It was beautiful and strong yet soft and comforting at the same time. I quickly bought the rest of VLVODAAHF and then went on to get everything else by them.

Coldplay has honestly changed my life and has helped me get through some pretty tough stuff.

In My Place, in 2002... after that I listened AROBTTH too many times

Clocks made me want to find out more about them. I had heard Yellow, but didn't know it was Coldplay. Fell in love with God Put a Smile...Played the heck out of Parachutes and Rush/Blood to the Head over and over everyday for three years. Just couldn't get enough of their music, I discovered different aspects of each song so I never got tired of them.

Fell in love all over again when I saw them in concert last month. Just a totally awesome band.
