They were talking this morning on tv about the power of youtube and out of curiousity i thought i would check out the most viewed videos of all time around the world. The top 20 is dominated by hip hop/rnb/pop songs like rihanna and katy perry. Evolution of Dance is at no.1 with 123million views then Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne with 122 million but alot of people claim her fans somehow managed to manipulate the system. The highest 'rock' song is Viva La Vida by Coldplay which when i was watching had 49,324,019 views and there were a couple of other people watching at the same time as me. I just thought we here at Cping should celebrate the video crossing 50 million! If we try really hard we could even jump Chris Brown's Forever video which is about 800 000 views ahead. but thats gonna be tough because of the whole wedding video thing going around.

 

I think vlv will cross 50 million in the next couple of weeks.

i'm not sure about everyone else. but when i search Viva La Vida the first video that comes up is the one on ColdplayTV not the one on the parlophone channel, that video doesnt come up for a couple of pages. how does that work?

I don't know the story about Evolution of Dance getting number one, but Girlfriend definitely was manipulated. The Avril fan forums took the media for a publicity ride in order to get the video highest on YouTube. Sad, really.

Yeah I heard about that too. Something like her links made the video keep loading multiple times thus getting multiple views. Cheaters. Skanks. I hate Avril.
