Well when I was near Lake Tahoe some years back, we happened to call in at a bar where there was a Texan wedding party, and it was definitely the bride that threw the garter, and all the guys were asked to "line up".

It definitely seemed strange at the time!;)

At my dad's cousin's wedding, they planned the porniest music when the groom had to take off the bride's garter. :P
