@Virgi: yup, we stalked but they celebrated Tom's bday, so they was out late (as we waited till after midnight and they didn't show up, and that's what a member of one of the opening part bands tell us)

 

I want to start a kind of new topic here friends:

Have you recently discovered a new band? Do you really like them? Share It with a little description & we've to play the game: listen to what It posted and tell what we think about It :)

I start:

I've recently discovered a band named "Ash": It's a northen irish alternative rock/britpop band formed in 1992. They've 6 studio albums and there's a kind of 7th album, "A-Z series", released as 26 singles.

 

This is a really "fresh" song, "Return of white rabbit", from the "A-Z series":

ok, so another song:

Hero of war by Rise Against. It's a hardcore punk band formed in Chicago in 1999. They have 5 albums and this song is from the last one, Appeal to Reason. It not a punk song at all actually, It's just to introduce the band (as some people don't like punk music, is It even possible?? :p )

You're not dreaming ;) She said in NME that this song was all about what her father told her about chemistry...Here what someone decipher and interpret the song...

 

Florence and her love are the atoms, she is the positively charged one(the hydrogen), he is the other one (can't make out what she says haha),, they are attracted to each other and drawn closer and closer, they want to stick together but they are "stranging" one another..they can't be together regardless of how much they want to be because they are two positive atoms, and they need to be one positive and one negative to come together to make a molecule.

 

The "feel it on me love, see it on me love" bit- I reckon is the charge, the passion, she wants the other atom to see her passion and energy for him, as they are around each other constantly (the "Pattern") some force is keeping them apart and she asks "whats the matter with me love" because they cannot overcome the force and be together.

 

Atoms have protons neutrons and electrons...but also quarks, and there are several different types of quarks all distinguished by their individual flavour, colour..and wait for it..STRANGENESS AND CHARM :)

 

She wants anything, a catalyst, a chemical imbalance to happen to stop the pattern so they can bond.

 

I might have it a bit wrong (dropped chemistry in college for a reason!!) but I think maybe thats the jist of it?
