"In 2003, it was leaked to the music and tabloid press that Ash were working on a horror film described as a 'teen slasher'. The film, called Slashed, was shot while the band were on tour in America but some scenes were also shot in the UK. The screenplay, written by Jed Shepherd and directed by Alexander Marks included star roles by Chris Martin (Sherbet Bones) and Jonny Buckland (Agent Ford) of Coldplay as a pair of FBI agents hired to track down a supernatural serial killer. Other star performances include that of Moby, James Nesbitt, Dave Grohl and Ash themselves.[2] The film was much hyped due to the celebrity performances but it was never generally released to the public and is currently being held in storage. Rumours circulated that certain scenes were too gory and would not be suitable for Ash's audience, but it was also said that Chris Martin vetoed its release due to scenes of him running around in his boxer shorts, covered in blood, fighting demons which may have been detrimental to his new celebrity status."

What a big shot. :dozey:

Oh yeah, I read that. :\ Seemed unlikely to me, though...

Err did you ever wonder if some things you read in the media might not actually be completely and utterly factually correct? GASP! Maybe, just maybe adding in a little "rumour" about Chris in boxer shorts at the end makes it a more interesting article?

Honey, you need to chill out a bit. If you don't like Coldplay anymore then listen to something else... no one will mind...

I think that's their point

Hmm...but it's not like Chris really cares about that though...I mean he has run around with Borat in tighty whities and completely tsken the piss out of himself with Ricky Gervais.

I think he would definitely veto anything detrimental to the band, but not his celebrity. Afterall he hates all that, I think if he really cared about his celebrity status he'd show up on GP's arm at every given opportunity, you know?

:laugh3: So true!

There's no way of knowing if it's not true.

So that's kind of a ridiculous argument.

Plus that was like pre X&Y / post AROBTTH Chris. So it's definate possiblity. That's when he was still on goop's arm, isn't it? Not that she matters in this.

Agreed about being young. A rush of blood to the head came out when I was like 10 years old ... I didn't know what good music was, but thats my favorite of their albums.

I'll be bashing them until they release something that is actually Coldplayish and not Vivaish and when they start dressing like normal people.

/rant.

Why?

They used to be rock, now they're pop.

They use to be endearingly self-depricating, now it just seems insincere.

Chris used to hang out with Tim from Ash, now it's Jay-Z.

Guy used to be a raging alcohol diva, now he just takes photos.

It used to go "I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war, if you can tell me something worth fighting for", now it goes "those who are dead are not dead, they're just living in my head."

They used to wear pants and a t-shirt, now they wear costumes.

Jonny used to have his amazing slide solos, now he gets nothing.

Chris used to idolize Radiohead, now he idolizes Beyonce.

Chris used to be able to hit all the notes, now he just dances.

Add on to the list you guys.

I hate to say it, but I agree with you. It's like they have forgotten the simple parts of life.

There's no way of knowing if it's not true.

I do see what you're saying, but I think Coldplay now is more to do with them trying to deal with being a big band, rather than Chris trying to be a celebrity.

Post AROBTTH/Pre X&Y Chris was alot more relaxed about GP but he would still fly off the handle when she was mentioned or they were photographed.

Well yeah. I'm not trying to say they're trying to be big celebrities right NOW.

I'm just saying poor Ash.

who cares about the music genres...

who cares about which kind of friends Chris has

Does drinking alcohol makes you a better rocker or person?

I would love to see them going back to the simple / intimate concerts, but they are one of the biggests bands out there so that won't happen. I don't care about their clothes because they are not models. I'm not a blind fan who loves all their songs but I enjoy their music and that's what is important for me. I don't really care about other people's thoughts. If you don't like them anymore just move on, there's no point in trying to bring back the old days because it won't happen

Nicely put.

Not if only you actually got to see them

That's one we could add:

Coldplay rarely tour Latin America.

I edited my post but thanks anyway :P

still will love to see them performing more parachutes songs :wacky:

ohh and Mimi, if they were an indie unknown little band my chances would be even lower so I love that they're so big and famous now :P

Lol, his unborn children.

^ well you know what i mean.

like i don't think that after he had children, cause obviously he knew he was going to get married one day.

that he'd want them seeing it.

thats why most people start calming down and not being so wild around their late twenties.

cause they don't want anything to come back and bite them when they've established families and stuff.

I have been a Coldplay fan since 2002 and will continue to be one. I agree with Lore...I don't care who they hang out with or what music they choose to make because they are creative no matter what. They are still just four nice guys who just want to do what they love.
