It actually reads more like a poem than an actual song. The words are more bare, direct and raw than some other Coldplay songs with a heartbroken theme. It's like opening someone's journal and reading their thoughts :(

 

I wonder where Chris has to go in his mind to pull out these kinds of songs he writes? Without writing a whole book about Coldplay's music and its connection to my emotions, let me just say that the songs are beautiful. No shame in admitting I cry to their music!!

Sometimes I think Chris writes about other people. Didn't he once say that he was inspired to write the Scientist because of what his friend went through?

 

But I agree...I can't believe they gave this song away! :dozey:

I think a man's voice in general will sound better for this song..

They weren't gonna release it anyway, you guys, so stop hating on Chris for giving it away.

I finally heard "Fun" and am rather upset with Chris for giving it away... just like I was with "Gravity". But at least with "Gravity", we finally got a Coldplay studio version of the song, and at least we'd had that live version floating around for ages before that. "Fun" is such a beautiful song. Natalie does a great job with it - but I'd still prefer to hear the Coldplay version instead.

I love Lukas, even though it's Natalie singing and I would really like to hear Chris version of it. When I first heard "Fun", my first thought was that it was a typical Viva song and would fit perfectly on the album but the only thing with the song is that I don't like it. Sure, it's beautiful but also boring :\ Of course it would sound better with Chris voice and I don't know, maybe if I heard his version I would like it but right now I don't. It would have worked as a b-side for me but not on the album. This is only my opinion though :)

Thanks for the info. I guess I'm pretty surprised that it wasn't more widely released since Natalie Imbruglia had that huge hit years ago, but then I looked it up and it looks like she released it on her own label, so that helps explain it a bit.
