Regardig Mark: Should Mark be banned?

Featured Replies

I'm not even sure if this is serious (depends on the reaction I guess) but in light of Nathan's banning, do you think it would be fair to ban Mark as well? Now I know this thread will not have any effect and Ian will not and should not be influenced, but I'm just curious how many Coldplayers feel Mark should be banned just as much as Nathan. I'll even not make it a public poll so people can vote guilt-free and not be revealed.

Okay, this is going to be the LAST thread about whether Mark should be banned or not. If I see another thread like this, I'm not even going to read it any longer and just lock it and remove it completely.

I'm not saying that you are not allowed to say your opinions on this matter.. on whether it annoys you or if he's insulting someone & being completely rude or whatever else he seems to be doing or anyone else as a matter of fact just do us all the favor to report it and send a message to the administrators/moderators.

PS: Before you all go crazy reporting.. Do me the favor to talk to that person first & see if they might change their behavior towards you or towards someone else (although some people never *takes a deep breathe* seem to learn). If such case still persists.. still report it but use your ignore option which it is going to be on your user cp at the top.

Hi Guys n gals,

First off thanks to those who have been conversing with me regarding problems between yourselves and others on the forum. Clearly, it is obvious from discussions that I cannot please everybody on the forum all of the time. In view of this, I have decided to implement a 'best-fit' solution which requires a certain level of co-operation from those who feel they have a complaint to make.

I propose a three step solution to such problems:

1) Invite the user to put an 'offender' on their ignore list, by following easy to complete steps; if I don't receive a complaint in the first place then I will assume there is no problem. Your ignore list resides at:

http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/profile.php?do=ignorelist

2) If they refuse, or continue to complain about a user having not followed or even retracted step 1, then I will use my discretion by entering one or both users onto a 'forced ignore' list whereby they will not see each other's posts and the other person's profile will not be accessible. I reserve the right to add people to others' ignore lists without warning if I feel this will be beneficial to the community.

3) If I feel that a user is being offensive/abusive to the board in general (not just to a few individual users) then I retain the right to have them removed from the messageboard completely.

I think step 2 is long overdue. I have been going on and on about people not making use of the ignore feature. I will shortly be looking at a plugin whereby users are able to ignore offending threads as well as other users.

If there are users that you would like me to add to you're permanent ignore list then please send me or jenjie a PM.

Ian

You don't even know WHY Nathan was banned in the first place...

He wont leave guys, this thread is completely pointless

its not based off your votes if he is supposted to leave or nt

Yes, but not forever. I would have no one to make fun of then. :(

No, but that is because I don't really pay any attention to him. Plus, the few times I have paid attention to him I haven't read anything from him that would be deemed "ban worthy".

I think members should be branded rather than banned. Its more permanent.

If you're going to ban Nathan, ban Mark too.

I don't think either should be banned, but they both do the same thing, essentially.

EXACTLY what i was about to write.

We had this already.

...meh, sure they were but then you think the words that Nathan used...

****!! Fucking retard, cocksucker...blah blah blah blah blah.... It makes him seem more offensive and rude...

Careful with Mark, he'll come here, start to post with his stupid word games, correcting you and more important, being annoying, winking and rolling eyes, trying to look like a rational man, trying to look like a victim who wants a peaceful forum, when in reality he keeps bashing everything and everyone.

Wow, lol.

So yes, why not.

sometimes you don't need "bad" words to say something offensive.

sometimes you don't need "bad" words to say something offensive.

And in the time I've been here, I have not seen Mark post something as offensive as Nathan... He consists much of word games etc like Alexa said, more annoyance than offensiveness if you ask me.

racism, offending posts about another members' religions... I've seen lots of reported posts because of that. And no, not from the "doom crew" people...

You said what I could not.

don't me get involved :laugh3:

No,cos we know what your answer will be..:p

Definitely... Mark brings up the fights most of the time, not to mention as said above with the annoying comments and stuff. Maybe not for a long time, but to get the message across he shouldn't be doing it.

That won't be happening anytime soon....

.

also Mark has brought up fights long before this whole thing with Nathan.

and continues to do that..

and yeah that's basically all he does.
