Wednesday 10th November – ACER Arena, Sydney

Monday 15th November – Entertainment Centre, Adelaide

No idea what they plan to do in the 18 days between Perth and Sydney. this tour clashes directly with my exam period so im going to miss out.

Didn't anyone hear Wolfmother lost their drummer again?

yeah ahha. ahhh i used to love that band. what the fuck happened!!

FUCK FUCK FUCK.

3 times.

#1. Couldnt get tix to Powderfinger's 1st Melb show.

#2. Couldnt get tix to Powderfinger's 2nd Melb show.

#3. Muse are going to end up playing Rod Laver, a place I CAN NEVER GET TICKETS TO

I seriously hate ticketek so much and Rod Laver Arena.

SO MUCH HATE

Bring on these Splendour sideshows at venues that have decent ticketing systems.

I take back one of the fucks.

I just realised Powderfinger HAVE to announce a 3rd Melbourne show. Both nights are reading like this only an hour and a half after they went on sale for a show HALF a year away:

OHgYs.jpg

Plus they have a huge gap in the tour.

So Fingers crossed I can get standing tix for the 3rd night.

Still, Grr! This is harder to get tix for than Coldplay was. Seriously WTF

At least ticketek tells you if it's sold out or not. Ticketmaster allows you to go through the entire process then in the last step tell you there are no tickets left.

Instent sell outs are the norm now.

Angus+Julia stone have announced a huge national tour in august. Hope to catch them.

Unusual, I have never had problems with ticketmaster. I just hated that they kept saying "seats available" and then would come up with error messages, saying there are no tickets available.

There are too many tours going on at the moment, its ridiculous.

i wanna buy tickets to grizzly bear and lcd soundsystem + hot chip (mates are being stingy about going to both arhghghgh). i thought about powderfinger but couldnt get a group together. then theres metallica who just had to tour in the middle of my exam period.

florence and jonsi sideshows are on the wishlist also.

Yeah I am gonna go to Grizzly bear, they are playing here in melb at the Palais - sit down venue. Might be a really nice change of pace.

Powderfinger is too pricey for me. Wooooooo.

Still, Grr! This is harder to get tix for than Coldplay was. Seriously WTF

That's because Coldplay was overpriced a tad considering the economic fail etc methinks

Also the fact that coldplay put over 60 000 tix on sale in Sydney and melbourne making it much more easily available. Powderfinger is selling hardly 20 000 in each city despite the massive demand.

Yeah if I am forced to I will travel to Ballarat for Powderfinger. Ive got friends there so it wouldnt be too bad a trip to make.

Triple J Tv Concert series starts on ABC2 this week. here is the line up

May 3 - Phoenix @ Enmore 2009

May 10 - Paul Dempsey

May 17 - Vampire Weekend @ Notes on Enmore 2009

more to come hopefully.

If only I watched TV... ha.

I went for a bit of a road trip today down to Surfers Paradise, for the launch of the Surfers Paradise festival that will take place over the next couple of months (appropriately called "Launch It!" :P)

Anyway it was a free event featuring new and established Australian artists... I missed the first act (Dirty Wings) but caught:

The Shadow Thieves

Elke

Yves Klein Blue

Bertie Blackman

You Am I

I'd never heard of the first two but they seemed pretty decent.

Yves Klein Blue were by far the best act of the day, in my opinion. The set was a lot of fun.

Bertie Blackman also put on a decent set, though it was hard to hear her voice at times...

I've never been a huge You Am I fan but their set was good, almost as good as the fireworks display that proceeded it :D lol.

Also got my shirt signed TWICE by the lead singer of Yves Klein Blue... haha.

Ok, SPLENDOUR SIDESHOW MADNESS. Here we go.

Ones I am going to are in green.

Throw in Kasabian, Grizzly Bear, LCD Soundsystem / Hot Chip, Temper Trap / The Joy Formidable and The Strokes which have already been announced.

i dont know about you but i really dont get it why people hate it so much that some bands come back to australia multiple times in the same year. if you lived in london or new york you would have the same bands coming through 3 or 4 times every year. so i really dont see whats so bad about it.
