i dont know about you but i really dont get it why people hate it so much that some bands come back to australia multiple times in the same year. if you lived in london or new york you would have the same bands coming through 3 or 4 times every year. so i really dont see whats so bad about it.

I dont really hate it, I guess I am just not used to it. Plus I don't know why festivals over here feel the need to recycle artists, we don't have as many festivals as England does so it's a little different to make the comparison. I guess I wouldnt be complaining if it was Vampire Weekend, Oasis or Coldplay.

Had to come here for my 3,000th post. Done.

And i'll promote Vampire Weekend's support band, Cloud Control, which oddly I liked.

Went and saw Lisa Mitchell play last night, I managed to get front row and it was a really good show... she's rather quirky isn't she? At first she seemed almost like she didn't want to be there, she wasn't smiling or anything. But after a few songs she seemed to warm up to us and from then on she was fantastic.

Not sure of the exact setlist, but the only one missing that I wanted to hear was Sidekick. Neopolitan Dreams was definitely the highlight, it got the crowd going the most and you could tell she was delighted with the response! Pirouette and Oh Hark were also really good. She also played a couple that I hadn't heard before, which was nice.

Oh and I was very impressed with the support band, Boy and Bear... they were excellent.

Haha. I think the 'embarrassed' smiley looks too sad... :P

Sorry they're not fantastic quality, I had to use my phone as my camera's broken. And I had to put it as a link, my computer's being stupid and won't let me insert pictures directly into the post, grrr. That's also why my mood seems to be permanently stuck on 'apprehensive' lol. It's annoying the hell out of me :dead:

Hey I liked them! Its a decent phone, too. And you only just got that camera before BDO! Need to get one before splendour!

^^ Haha thanks. I KNOW RIGHT?? and I lost the receipt, sooo angry. I only got to use it twice!! Stupid Kodak. I have another camera, but it's quite big and there's no way I'd take it to Splendour. I think I'll get one that takes batteries cos I won't have access to power for a few days :awesome:

most of my money will be going towards new albums over the next few days. lcd soundsystem, midnight juggernauts, tame impala, dead letter circus and broken social scene. im strongly considering going to LCD by myself and desperately trying to find someone for laura marling before tix go on sale on friday

Going to a gig by yourself isn't half bad, I rocked up for Julian Casablancas when I pleased, and quite enjoyed it! Its the waiting by yourself that sucks. Yesh CDs too, hmm I just bought the new Dead Weather CD, and I am going to get Foals, Cloud Control, Tame Impala, Midnight Juggernauts too

More mercy.

Enjoy Vampire Weekend tonight. Guarantee they'll blow your mind.

Oh I forgot you went to see Julian Casablancas! Jealous! How was he?

Its the waiting by yourself that sucks.

That's when you talk to randoms :awesome:

I did that the other night at Lisa Mitchell and met someone else going to Splendour! 'twas awesome.

And yes, VW will blow your mind. Have fun! :D

JC was good. Played some strokes covers which made the crowd go nuts. Two of my faves too. It was a good gig to go to, not amazing. It was a wall of sound, so different to the clarity of VW.

Haha, I'm actually looking forward to seeing Passion Pit's set at Splendour! :P

I read a review today in some magazine that was at my college about the JC gig, heard about the Strokes covers. Would've been cool, but yeah I'd choose VW 10 times over Julian!

Is anyone going to see The Strokes on their sideshow tour?

^^

unfortunately im not. new strokes album has been delayed to 2011. :(

a guy at the VW gig was talking about the casablancas show and he said it was really poorly received. that people felt a little ripped off.

Casablancas was a bit of a rip off, but what he played was bloody good. When he played those strokes songs I have never seen a place erupt like that in my life.

Right so its 9:37am.

Got my Frightened Raabit tix on Wednesday.

Got my surfer blood tix at midnight.

Got my passion pit tix when they went on early at 7:30am (and it sold out at 9:20am, 2nd show added)

Got my Foals tix at 9am.

Two Door? Hmmm. East Brunswick Club havent put them on sale yet, they're scheduled for today. Site is giving me the shits. Don't want to miss out, I want these the most.

Oh, and I missed out on The Strokes too. Gutted.

Got my two door tix just then.

Found out Foals added a 2nd night in Melb.

Now for Powderfinger, on sale at 12pm today...

Those are too pricey for me, what are they, $110? :disappointed:
