June 26, 201015 yr Hmm, is that AF recording uploaded anywhere? I went to a concert last night that was being held for the opening of a new bridge in Brisbane. The headline act (and the main drawcard, for me) was Angus and Julia Stone, and WOW they were good! Absolutely beautiful live, I'd really like to go to one of their own shows to hear more of my favourites live, because their set was only about 8 songs long - but included Mango Tree, And the Boys, Big Jet Plane, Yellow Brick Road, Just a Boy and Julia played a cover of a song from Greece :P Although I personally prefer Angus' voice over Julia's, she was very very impressive live, much more so than on the records, I thought. Either way their performance was perfect. I loved it! I'll post some pics/videos later if I get time. They have gigs for the opening of bridges? WHAT THE
June 26, 201015 yr They have gigs for the opening of bridges? WHAT THE It was ON the bridge too :P It's because they called it the "Go-Between" bridge. They had one of the members of the Go-Betweens play a few songs. He was probably (actually, definitely) my least favourite of the night though. Seemed like he was on a bit of an ego trip, lol.
June 26, 201015 yr Photos: At the end [a rather drunk] Bob Evans joined them on stage. Julia's doing a cute little dance :P Just a photo of the people on the bridge... you can't see very far back but you get the idea OH and I forgot to mention, both Bob Evans and Josh Pyke were playing so at the end of Josh's set Bob Evans came on stage and they played the next single from Basement Birds. First live Basement Birds performance! Even if there were only two of them there :P
June 26, 201015 yr Second. They've done a gorilla gig for channel V. Sorry gracey. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-PnTepo1OI]YouTube- Basement Birds - Skin of the Sky[/ame]
June 28, 201015 yr Author bad news peoples. this IMF will be an epic fail. the station has decided to broadcast only 6 to 7 songs from each set which means 30-40mins as opposed to the usual 60min live at the wireless's. dont think i'll be going out of my way to record alot of this stuff.
July 4, 201015 yr Only a couple of sets left now, I haven't actually been able to listen to a single one
July 4, 201015 yr Author sorry for the let down peoples but ive been pretty under the weather this weekend so ive been a little selfish in terms of recording the sets. i only did arcade fire, pearl jam, the white stripes and rage against the machine.....pretty much my fave acts. i will try and upload what i have tomorrow.
July 5, 201015 yr Grrrr... I tune into Radiohead at about 6:30 (since my car radio's been fucking up as of late a bit I only managed to out of sheer luck) and expect to have the last half an hour and be happy. Ten minutes later it's the end. Fucking hell! What the hell is so important to waste 20 minutes with unimportant crap rather then just play the rest of the set?! GRAWWRRRG I missed all my fave songs being played too so extra rage ghdrkghlarui
July 5, 201015 yr The Ting Tings just cancelled their upcoming splendour sideshows and the festival appearance. Something to do with their 2nd album coming out this yr. Better get my refund now
July 5, 201015 yr Glad I'm not a massive Ting Tings fan right now! I wonder why they would cancel it because of an upcoming album? I thought it would be a good opportunity to get some of the new material out there.
July 5, 201015 yr Ting tings are superb live. The Middle east just dropped off splendour too.. THATS TWO IN ONE DAY!
July 5, 201015 yr Any of your guys/girls heard the new releases from Richard in your Mind, The Paradise Hotel and Cabins?
July 5, 201015 yr Not yet :shame: I plan on checking out the new Richard in Your Mind album soon though, I've heard a lot of good things about it. Also, just heard Little Red's new single "Rock It", and I really, really like it!
