What exactly do you mean by slap back delay?

um, i'm not ok with you when it comes to the 2nd verse, try:

e|--9---9--9

b|--9---9--9

g|--9---9--9

d|--11-11-11

(etc)

is better i guess ^^

its a very short delay it almost sounds like whatever your playing is mirrored, hard to explain.

oh i see, thanks :) What is the approx delay time?

Not sure, probably close to half a second, I have a boss dd3, here's the settings I use on it

Thanks! Sweet same as me! Interesting to note with the DD-3 you can't get the correct delay time for In My Place can't get a long enough delay :( Do you know which setting is used for Everything Is Not Lost?

I actually dont but I'll look into it. For In My Place, I don't use any delay. I turn my volume knob to roughly 2.5 and i put my amp's reverb all the way up. sounds identical to the MTV world stage version. give that a try.

oh i see! I thought i definately heard some delay in there. I guess maybe in the earlier live versions he did

i.e.

Yeah it almost sounds like he's using his POG to get a harmonizer in the MTV World Stage performance.

Cheers for looking into it! I'm a perfectionist when it comes to Coldplay :D

yeah i definetly hear some delat in there I'll try to work out some delay settings but I'm not the best at them. I use only 3 delay setting that are loosely based on Tom Morello's delay settings and one of my own. The slapback delay above I got from Tom Morello, he uses it in the song Cochise incase you've ever heard it for example. Here's my version of long delay, give this a shot but it probably wont go well with In My Place.

This delay setting is based on Tom Morello's long delay, but it goes well with a lot of songs. I use it when I play Fix You and Talk.

Oh and I remember looking at one of Jonny's list of effects used for songs (I'll try to find the image) and RV3 (reverb) is the only effect listed for in my place. but i think thats only for the vlv tour.

l62B is listed for in my place. I'm guessing that refers to the Line 6 Dl4 eh?

either way it sounds pretty good with/without delay!

oh and he's using two delays for Everything's Not Lost:\

um, to in my place:

i guess you need to set the delay speed up to 2xBMP of In my Place
