I think all those tackles came in the same match!

Don't blame her though, blame the referee for not sending her off!

Elizabeth Lambert, the woman footballer banned for violence

The referee thought she only deserved a yellow card but the x-rated slow motion replays make Vinnie Jones look demure.

Elizabeth Lambert’s uncompromising approach to the art of defending has earned her an indefinite ban from college football after video footage of her performance in one match became a hit on YouTube.

The 20-year-old is seen punching an opponent in the back, applying a swinging forearm smash to another, kicking a the ball at the head of a student as she lay on the ground and dragging a striker to the ground with a violent yank on her ponytail.

Miss Lambert was suspended from the University of New Mexico’s team after an internet campaign was mounted in response to her “hardman” tactics against Brigham Young University.

Millions of people have watched the clips online since the footage was filmed last Thursday.

Kit Vela, her coach, conceded that she had gone too far. “Her actions clearly crossed the line of fair play and good sportsmanship,” he said.

The college player has apologised for her vigorous approach but she could still face further disciplinary action.

She said: “I am deeply and wholeheartedly regretful for my actions. My actions were uncalled for. I let my emotions get the best of me in a heated situation. I take full responsibility.”
