Buckley's Hallelujah is not only superior to the original, but to most songs, and as you said Nick Hendrix's All allong the watchtower

other than that I can't think of any other good covers

Damn straight, Buckley's Hallelujah >>>>> the original. Actually I think it could be Jeff Buckley's best song period.

I think Hallelujah is boring.

Btw, most of the songs Ray Charles did were covers, even if practically nobody else did those songs. And I love him. So all of his covers are good too. Georgia on My Mind, Take These Chains From My Heart, etc. Especially Georgia on My Mind. Which I may as well post I suppose.

Ray Charles is so good. We should give him love.

I think Hallelujah is boring.

Me too.

This kind of comments is what makes me put people on my ignore list now that I actually know how to do it....

well in fact I don't know but seriously are you nuts? Hallelujah is not boring, is one of the most epic and beautiful songs ever

Frames do some good covers.

Buckley covered lots of other songs as well as Hallelujah, all of which were amazing.

Dave Matthews Band does a pretty good All Along the Watchtower cover, and I'm especially fond of their version of Cortez The Killer by Neil Young.

Probably is his best. Next best IMO is Lover Should've Come Over, but Hallelujah tops it in so many ways.

Wow. You both hate an almost unanimously loved song. Speaks volumes about you.

THIS

You small-minded people have to open up your brains and listen to lyrics and dynamics and emotion, not just loud noises.

I heard there was a secret chord...

that David played and it pleased the lord...

I don't like the song, that's all ;)

And I don't think I deserve to be putted on an "ignore list" just because of that :D

You don't know me and you call me small-minded, just because I don't like a song. Wow.

Coldplay =loud noises? I don't think so :)

well you didn't exactly impress us with your critique of 'boring'...

I actually can't really put my finger on it. I have bad memories with it, and I don't go with the song at all.

Everybody can't like all music ;)

I like Dave Matthews Band.. :D

I really like this song, the bass and drums sound nice together... very full sounding. the music video though is kinda weird

Not to me, I think it's overated and just plain boring. I like Buckley, but that song just isn't one of my favorites. Putting me on your ignore list for just having an negative opinion about a song you like would be kinda silly.

YEAH COS HAVING AN OPINION IS SO WRONG

Listening to the lyrics didn't change my mind.

Muse in Paris-Bercy

It was an amazing show and also my first Muse gig. I was uplifted when i got back home. A great atmosphere started as soon as the band got on the stage.

Well I love Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley, but I can see why people can find it boring.

OK the lyrics are beautiful (which is more due to Cohen's work than Buckley's by the way), but musically, it is very poor, which can be really great, but the song lasts more than 5 min, which, in the end, is musically boring. Always the same chords, always the same routine, except for the middle solo.

So people, open your minds, it's not that hard to see why others can find Hallelujah boring. Not everyone is that into lyrics, and what is there to criticize about this ?

Music is what's really important, i'm convinced.
